I don't post a lot of my own stuff, mostly reblogs, because I don't usually have much to say, but I've been on Tumblr for around a decade now. I've met a lot of good, genuine friends that I'm glad to call as such.

I'm 22, and I am an autistic transgender man in the USA and an early childcare worker with low income putting myself through college to eventually become a social worker, to help kids the way I feel like I was let down. I'm working very hard to try to afford top surgery and have been doing so since I was sixteen.

I finally got a doctor that would take me and a letter of gender recognition, but I'm still nowhere close to the amount needed, which will be roughly $18,000 USD. I was hoping my insurance would help, but my claims have been denied despite me reaching minimum criteria and appealing twice now. I've been on testosterone for two years this August (2026).

While my family is trying to help, they can't do much with this kind of monetary requirement, and so I'm seeking support to help me reach my goal and finally be able to have a body I can feel at home in more fully. I've recently been diagnosed with endometriosis as well and despite some medical intervention, I can't work as much as I could previously. Most of my saved top surgery money is going to surgical bills for medical care as of now, and I might have to have a full hysterectomy within the next year.

As I said, my parents and brothers are trying to help; they've said they can help fund a little bit, maybe up to $5k USD, and I'm putting everything that isn't going towards cost of living towards this as well.

The smart thing to do would be to give up. I know that. But I can't. I can't live like this anymore. So if anyone has spare change or the ability to help, even a cent goes further than what I have. For those of you that can't help, a share or reblog would still do wonders. And even barring that, just knowing that you read this far is enough for me. Thank you.
