     ONE OF THESE DAYS, do remind her to visit the locale. Attachment to a single area scarcely constitutes being adventurous in her books, despite how she hails herself as one. “I have had neither popcorn nor cotton candy, to be honest with you. I’m eager to try them. Off we go, then?” And straight unto one of the many canals webbed throughout the inner isle. Suddenly, she remembers why she’s stayed faithful to Cappuccino District. 

     Not that she’s willing to disclose such a thing. Folding her hands atop her lap, she turns to her company. “Please call me Arturia, by the way. Arthur if it is easier. You’re quite amicable to be traveling with strangers like so. Trusting.” Which she commends, yet worries for all the same. “Are you not fearful being alone in this city? I cannot imagine you were brought here with your parents, let alone your family for that matter.”

“Oh, my name’s Sora! And it’s okay, I’m not alone!” Sora assures immediately as best he can; quick as he is to make friends, he’s never really alone no matter where he goes—at least, that’s what he tends to keep his mind towards. “A really good friend of mine is here too, so I see him a lot. As for my parents, well, I’m kind of used to traveling and dropping into other places—have been for a while now, so this isn’t really anything new.” His shoulders shrug, practical nonissue of being separated from others and so far from home. It’s tiring sure, but he’s gotten used to it to the point where it doesn’t even surprise him.

“Yeah, I know. I blame my kwami formally for dragging me into this adventure. It will be fun he said, fun.”, Adrien groaned at this, despite Plagg being a mischievous kwami, he can be a negative influence in his life also.

“I have one, but do you have powers to fight back? I think you’re the first person I can trust with this. The plan is simple, avoid the Leviathans. If we stumble on any golems or any monsters we have to fight back with what we have left. Maybe sneaking around will work but that may be impossible.” Adrien mused, he fidgeted slightly and glanced at his ring. He hasn’t used his other identity for some time now. It’s a purrfect opportunity, pardon the cat pun

“Okay, here we go.” Concentrating hard on his ring, Adrien uses the transformation phrase that can let him transform into Cat Noir.

“Plagg, claws out!” A glowing green light surrounds Adrien dramatically.

“Ah neat!” Sora exclaims softly, awed by the sight once the light fades. “I can’t change my outfit on command. Well I kind of can, but I don’t know if it’s locked here and I need to fight long enough to activate it anyway, so we might not have time for that if we want to get out of here without making too much of a commotion.” He prattles but switches gears once he remembers they’re on a bit of time crunch and a question was asked.

“I am well. Or, at least physically well. This betrayal has left me a bit rattled, admittedly.” Understatement of the year, right there. Cornflower was kicking herself for trusting this pack of strangers so completely, and now everyone was suffering for it. “I trust you are, as well?” She lacked any healing abilities, but if nothing else she could use part of her dress as a bandage. It would help to conserve his own power in case anyone else came along.

Another glimpse into the future proved her hunch correct. A veritable list of threats were waiting in the passage, poised to attack as soon as someone entered. “Sora, what awaits us is a gauntlet of leviathans, sharks, and golems guarding the path to freedom. The leviathans may be incapacitated when we get there, and the sharks may be scared off by the chaos, but I am not sure how to best handle the golems. Do you have any ideas?” That statement wasn’t entirely true. Cornflower could likely stop the golems if she could freeze them, but it’s a risky plan. Nevermind all the water, and Sora could be caught in the crossfire.

That makes sense, Sora nods sympathetic and understanding. He didn’t know what to expect out of this venture, but the whole situation doing a one-eighty and suddenly becoming incredibly high risk wasn’t the first on his mind. Maybe he should have steeled himself for inevitability sooner or later given the track record for similar things happening is high and has been for years now. “It’s nothing that I can’t handle.” He does try to console with a smile added for emphasis. “We got each other, so it’ll be fine.”

  how do you tell someone that you enjoyed swimming before but now don’t want to because you’ll turn into a fish? the answer is: you don’t. nene keeps glancing between the nearest exit and sora, fidgeting with her skull brooch, and tries to figure out what to do next. hanako isn’t here right now and while relying on him consistently during this time is a bit embarrassing, he’s the only person she can trust with this secret.

  “ o - oh, um… er… it’s really complicated!!! ” she exclaims, ready to just dive straight into the water and hope transforming into a fish doesn’t effectively start a rumor around this place. “ i don’t want to make you watch over me or anything! i’ll be fine here, ahaha… ”

Sora, bullheaded and stubborn for all the wrong—or perhaps right—reasons; his heart, at least is in a good place. He sees fidgeting nervousness and comes to the wrong conclusion, again, but he doesn’t like the idea of leaving someone to fend for themselves when said person is obviously uncomfortable.

Smarter Than You Look

“Kinda bummed that this happened actually.” A brief moment of reprise and a less serious tone to his voice than the surrounding situation may allow. Though this isn’t Sora’s first time dealing with a situation turning sour due to outside circumstances. There isn’t much to do and he knows complaining doesn’t help anything get done, but it isn’t as though he has a ship to keep running and he assumed the lack of heartless around meant lack of danger in general. So much for that way of thinking—best to keep all that in mind for future use.

Personal nature perhaps leans to close to something self-sacrificial for anyone’s own good, but Sora sees it less as martyring himself for the greater good and more helping in anyway that he can. It’s no different here, of course, power limited as it is isn’t a new instance the wielder has to work around, just means he has to try harder or do better to see as many people safe as he can. In this level of chaos it’s hard to do just that, but he’s faced multiple enemies at once countless of times—underwater fighting is a different beast entirely, but Sora has experience. He can’t in good conscious make his way back up to the surface until he’s sure he’s helped as many as he can to safety.

He’s missed one, even. Not really a surprise since Sora is just one person—one boy, rather—he can’t keep count of everyone that passes in his direction. That doesn’t mean he won’t carry the weight of it all or something close to that. He likes to fashion himself a hero, after all, and what kind of hero just ignores others in the middle of an emergency.

“They’re pretty, usually. I don’t think I have a strong opinion on them one way or another, but I think I like sunflowers if I had to pick.”

“Oh! You mean like in a video game kinda thing? Uh, probably some munny since I do carry that around a lot and heartless drop it all the time, so why not me? That’s the common thing.”

Uncommon though, that’s a bit harder to think about. “All the accessories I carry around for uncommon things, maybe? I had a lot of extras or maybe potions or elixirs or something like that, the higher grade stuff, you know?”

sora has so much practice with fighting monsters this is great. he wants to help!!! he’s going to help!! 

i’d like for these to be plotted and discussed for part 2 of the event given the nature of things. if you’re chill with keeping steady connect throughout the thread to see where things go, then go ahead and give this a like.
