This is officially the last doodle/comic in my giant sketchbook. I gotta thank Castlevania for boosting my drive and getting me to use up that whole thing.

Oh hello, I made an unnecessary sequel to this comic. But why…?

Name: Blow Hard

Debut: Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island

Guys. Guys. I’m very, very mature. There is literally nothing remotely funny about this name. I’m sorry. 

So. Blow Hard. Who is Blow Hard? Well, they’re a kind of Pokey apparently, since their Japanese name is Cannon Pokey! Of course, as you can see by this wonderful art, they fire Needlenoses! Hooray! We’ve covered just about every enemy that’s related to Needlenose at this point, and really, they deserve it. Just being in the proximity of Needlenose makes you a better person. 

Look at that face! He’s having a great time.

But really, what a fun design! I love these kind of little cacti, that just grow little arm-like nubs. Blow Hards will sit on any kind of surface and target you with crosshairs. They’re relentless! But if you Ground Pound near them, you can stun them for a second or two. 

And, of course, there’s Yoshi’s New Island! For all that game’s faults, it sure did do a great job of translating a bunch of weird enemies to 3D. Maybe the third dimension wasn’t so flattering for Blow Hard, since it just makes his pupils float above his head like they aren’t even attached. 

Hey, doesn’t it look a bit like eyestalks? Like, the kind you’d find on a Ghost Crab or something? Ghost Crabs, by the by, are incredibly cute! Never forget, there are real animals with simple black ovals for eyes! Nature is pretty great. 

So? Don’t you think there’s a lot of fun things to say about Blow Hard, that have nothing to do with his name? Which, for the record, has absolutely no funny implications at all? Great!
