i just wanna talk about grace's realization that he has a chance to live
#rocky tells him he can borrow his fuel to get back to earth and ryland's reaction was to crumble.#here he is thinking he has to d1e for some whackass doomsday mission and has already 'resolved' himself to the thought#AKA maybe kinda pushes the idea#to the back of his mind until The Moment comes where has to face reality#and then u have this space alien puppet saying 'nah dawg u can just take some of my gas and you can live :)))'#and then he cries.#i like to think. that maybe he wasn't really aware of all this fear and anxiety about the future he was repressing#until rocky presents him with another possibility#and then his emotions swell until they feel too big#and pop like a balloon inside of him. imagine thinking you have to end it all and this spider rock#gives you the gift of life#i really like how this movie handles humanity and the human condition#this scene made me Ponder#like being pushed against a wall with no way out but then you realize the wall is a door to escape#listen to me- ive been thinking about this scene since april 29th 2026
