I have GOT to stop spending $30

ive got to lock in and continue my dune reread, i did reread messiah quite recently so i will absolutely be able to mansplain it to everyone i watch dune 3 with, but ideally i would be dropping stupid fucking details from the rest of the series as well which i cant do unless i refresh my memories

i dont like dune. reading dune is an awful experience because frank herbert is the kind of hard sci fi writer who is too in love with the concept to even be able to consider things such as "prose that doesnt read like youre grinding sand between your teeth" and "character traits" and i dont usually mind that kind of writing if the concept is strong bur crucially in dune the concept is stupid as shit. HOWEVER. i fucking love explaining dune to other people. i love explaining things that happen in dune to my defenseless victims so much that im willing to suffer having to reread the dune series (up to chapterhouse) every 5 years or so, in order to keep the details fresh in my mind. because im twisted and genuinely evil
