I was wondering if you could do a moment in the LP universe where Athanasia was trained in the sword secretly so before she gets killed she demands a trial by combat. Just like Tyrion did from game of thrones. That would be so awesome. I could only imagine the line “ I’m guilty of a monstrous crime being born and in the process killing my mother” or “I’m guilty of being your unwanted daughter.” The amount of sass would be amazing!

bro just IMAGINE A DUEL BETWEEN ATHY (and maybe claude OHOHO YES YES) because athy is like “i know you won’t listen to me, so i demand a trial by combat!” and everyone is like hah she’s gonna lose anyways (because they don’t know that she trained for that) and claude is just there and he scoffs, demanding that it takes place then and there (a lil like this):
“who do you think you are to challenge the court for a trial by combat?“ his voice is cold and his gaze colder, but it doesn’t deter athanasia. he watches as her hand drops to her side as if to rest on a sword that they both know isn’t there and scoffs, eyes narrowing as he straightens in his seat. “i’ll entertain your pitiful claims for a moment. tomorrow, at dusk. i will personally see to it that your fight will be against me, so state your winnings. if you lose, i shall relieve you of your head.“ he pauses, a smirk crossing his face. “well, you’ll be dead already if you lose.”
athanasia bites her lip for a moment, eyes closing as she calms her rapidly beating heart before snapping her gaze to meet his. “if i win, then i desire your throne. i would’ve already slaughtered you by winning, and so i wish to stake my claim upon the throne that rightfully belongs to me. we both know that jennette isn’t truly your daughter, so let the one with the real blood rule.” a smirk that rivals claude’s stretches across her face, mimicking her father’s perfectly. roger alpheus’s blood runs cold at the sight and he stiffens, reaching blindly behind him to grip his son’s wrist. ijekiel glances up at his father before turning back to focus on the blonde, curious about what she was saying. the idea of her winning was absurd, but her ruling above them all? what kind of nonsense was that?
“... you wish to have my throne if you win?“
claude actually laughs. “so be it then, wench.”
and yknow it’s the next day and the duel happens and all claude can think about is how similar his daughter’s form is to a woman he barely remembers. there’s that same golden hair, that same sharp gaze. when she shifts her weight from one foot to the other in order to escape his blade, he swears it looks like she’s dancing. but when she stabs her own sword forward, the blade snaps out like a deadly lick to his side that makes him bring his sword down to parry, to protect himself. it’s bloody insane and he knows it, and it feels like deja vu at that rate.
athanasia uses a bit of magic and it ends up startling claude (because he never knew she could use it) so he gets pinned to the floor, and athanasia’s last words to him are:
“you tried to blame me for a crime i didn’t commit. the only crime i am guilty of is being your unwanted daughter, so watch me rise above you, father.“
yeah and then he dead LOL SORRY I CAN’T WRITE THESE DAYS
