i think it's pretty clear that diana's survival is a critical factor in how the wmmap/lp timeline plays out. god forbid your emperor's baby mama dies, or else his ancient evil ancestor who has a parasocial relationship with a (supposedly) legendary mythical figure comes back to haunt everyone and send your country into ruins 😭
(news flash !!! the only way she can survive is if that same legendary mythical figure FROM ANOTHER UNIVERSE comes in and saves her. not the one u have in ur universe tho. yea he’s not good enough Sorry)
but regardless, i'm really interested in an outcome where diana survives, but isn't technically alive, yk? i've discussed a few modern possibilities with @sharper-than-a-serpents-tooth in this thread where modern claude would go gabirel agreste style and keep clinically dead diana in some underground coffin like some odd freak and try to genetically clone her or something, but i wonder how this outcome would work out with wmmap's technology ???
we've seen an instance of successful resurrection through means of forbidden magic, and considering how claude resorted to using it when driven into despair, i think it would've been pretty in character for him to use the same method on diana 😭
when removing the family friendly filter on wmmap's story, it's pretty clear that claude essentially worshiped diana like his saving grace, the sun, the one who brought color into his life (and in extension warmed up to athy as a result).
maybe the love diana showed him somehow halted him from pursuing more extreme measures as a way to cope, but i highly doubt it considering this is claude "i'll cut the tongues off those who spoke ill og my daughter and hang their dismembered limbs on the palace gates as warning" de alger obelia we're talking abt rn 😭
i wonder if he turned to erasing his memories as a last resort after multiple attempts at resurecting diana? perhaps he even tried to turn back time?
athy IS claude's daughter after all. if her desire to go back in time and start over was so strong it warped dimensions and manifested into her reincarnating repeatedly, what's to say that Claude's mana doesn't have similar properties as well?
it was implied that athy is favored by the world tree, but why? why take pity on her and not claude? if athy had some sort of quality that allowed her to be granted such a power, what was it and did she inherit it? or was it something only she possessed? was claude's desire and pain for diana not enough?
if wmmap had been a darker manhwa the massacre of the ruby palace would have been Claude performing a dark ritual to restore his lover back to life. The plottwist would have been that he accidentally split her soul and a fragment of her soul was buried in Athy, hence why Athy acts like she was young Diana and her mother's ghost was stuck on her. This would make Athy also a product of black magic like Jennette (who had been a Penelope clone in the novel) which is another parallel I'd adore and it would explain why her mana behaves so strangely and why she had the power to cross time and space and be reborn again. What if the world rejected her and the reason why she could not stay dead was because she was an amalgamation of two souls that followed Claude's call to "come back"?

i also get that claude probably started wearing siodonna's clothing more due to diana's influence(he wanted to be more of a couple so they started to match ehehehe), that it probably felt freeing after years of being restricted by official clothing with heavy robes on his shoulders, even more so after he took the throne and he had to be more becoming of his station. but...what if...part of the reason he started to wear siodonnan robes was because...*looks at diana* well...pants and belts are so...constricting...it would probably be annoying to always have to unbutton/unzip/tear off everytime he wanted to... devour her...? 😏
