Oh, and about the last post: I remembered we've had one lesson in middle school themed "feast of the greek gods" where we could come dressed as mythological figures. I've had a bow, so I scrounged up some white sheets. I think I made a pretty good Artemis :)

#Malczewski loved to cast women in roles of awe-inspiring entities #monsters and angels alike #so these tiger (?) legs are surely a statement but not at all surprising #my vote's for death nonetheless #I've always found Malczewski's personifications of death fascinating #it's at once sad and peaceful - not a vengeful figure but one of relief and mercy #very atypical depiction though perhaps reflecting the fin-de-siecle fascination with the macabre #Only this time I've realised she doesn't have a kerchief or a veil on her head - these are bat wings #which is consistent with the depictions in his 'Thanatos' cycle #art history #Jacek Malczewski #poll

Last Song: I've recently found Riders Of The Storm by Battle Beast and have been listening to it on repeat ever since.

Currently Watching: I'm sort-of stuck in the middle of Dungeon Meshi. Definitely my kind of fantasy, I love the characters and the worldbuilding. I haven't finished it yet only because I recently find it difficult to sit and watch series. I've started Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, too. To me it's a more palatable take on the world of Westeros than GoT, but so far it didn't captivate me all that much.

Current Obsession: I'm trying to set up my balcony garden again! I'm trying once again to grow cherry tomatoes in pots, and I've got several seedlings waiting to be repotted.

Currently Reading: Your book, actually! The Price and Prey of Magic was on my to-read list for a long time and I'm currently reading it. It's one of the reasons I haven't commented on the recent OC facts post, I still have yet to learn what's Diarca's whole deal.

Currently Working On: Finishing Xaere's standee - I still hope to finish her miniature someday, but for the time being, a standee is better than nothing. The first, WIP version I've done wasn't coloured and the lineart was a tad bit too thin.

Currently Wearing: My old Sabaton t-shirt and green tracksuit pants with a white polkadot pattern.

Last Google Search: I've looked at spanish step pose references.

Favorite Flower: That's a difficult one! I like fruit tree flowers, magnolias, pink and white cosmos and forget-me-nots. As cut flowers, I like roses, preferably in deep, dark red. Basic, perhaps, but there's something about the matte texture that speaks to me.

Update: the PSU have given up, but I've managed to change it by myself! It turns out that I wasn't overly cautious - the weird sound it made one day when turning the PC on was probably a power surge, so ordering a new one right away was a good choice. Apparently PSUs these days can continue to work for some time even after a serious malfunction - mine gave up the ghost a week or so afterwards.

#Turns out I've had old information - I thought that once a PSU has a malfunction it just. doesn't start a computer.#BTW it turns out I've had my graphics card attached on two PCI-E plugs daisy chained together #which if I'm to believe the tech guides on the internet isn't generally a recommended thing #bc it can cause an undersupply of power to the graphic card #the PC used to turn off during more challenging gaming sessions #I thought it could've been a problem with insufficient cooling but I've heard it can be a PSU issue as well #we'll see if upgrading it and plugging the graphics card power supply properly stops the issue #captain's log

Sex scene as character study is so good. What is your relationship to your body? What is your relationship to your partner? What lessons have you absorbed from the culture about yourself as a sexual being? How much do you have to trust someone before being comfortable with intimacy? What fears and insecurities come to the fore for you when you take your clothes off? It's so good.

How do they communicate? How do they expect others to communicate? How well do they understand their body and their own capacity for pleasure? What do they tend to do to make their partner feel comfortable? How comfortable are they showing emotion in front of others? How much insight do they have into what their own emotions mean and are connected to? What are they focused on during the encounter? How conscious are they of exchanges of power and vulnerability? very very very good

#helpful tips #I'll say more - it's probably a me problem #but if a sex scene CANNOT be considered a character study in some regard then I usually find it genuinely uninteresting #and honestly then for me it could just as well be a fade to black #this is also why I often have problems with intimate scenes in movies - I feel like often they're there just to be there #not to actually say anything about the characters #and I personally don't really find it appealing
