So, the funny polish number—2137. What's up with it?

Well, first of all, it's the time of death of the polish pope, Jan Paweł Drugi (or, as the rest of the world knows him, John Paul the second). That isn't the only thing about the number however.

For the funny bit, you read the number as a series of digits instead. When done like that, it rhymes! So, instead of saying two thousand one hundred and thirty seven (dwa tysiące sto trzydzieści siedem) or twenty one thirty seven (dwadzieścia jeden trzydzieści siedem [this one rhymes a little too]), you say two one three seven - dwa jeden trzy siedem.

Anywyas tysm for the trivia! I'd heard about it being the time of death for the Pope, but I had no idea it rhymes in Polish too!! That's so epic!

The polish name for a racoon is "szop pracz" .

So! The saying "swears like a sailor". We have our own version, yes, but it has one very noticeable difference—different profession! See, the polish version is "klnie jak szewc" which would actually translate into, if you wanted to translate what it actually says as opposed to just getting the meaning, "curses like a shoemaker".

Which, if you think about it, makes sense. Like, a shoemaker (or a cobbler i guess :p ) uses a hammer or a very small area typically, and its not exactly difficult to smack you own fingers with it, the result of which is rather obvious.

So, there you go! Useful? Doubt it. Interesting? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Do you know it now? Yes :]

But can you imagine reading book seeing sentence starting with 'Ty' and being like wait is it Tiberius or You.

So my first language is polish and I read all Cassie books in it, and in translations sometimes shows up some friction, so this is one in this version.

Most of the time (I would say around 95%) it's pretty obvious bc of context like adjective verb, or Ty showing up in conversation doesn't make sense. BUT there's that 5% when you're like "oh wait it's the other one".

It's not something very annoying nor big of a problem, it's mostly funny how sometimes you need to stop and think who they are talking to/about.

Tbh it's only irritating when you trying to look for something and see "Ty" and it's not him but sentence starting with 'you'.

But scene when someone would say to Ty smthg along the line: "You... you didn't have to do this." after translation to polish will be "Nie... nie musiałeś tego robić" bc of our adjective verbs we can tell the person by it, so we don't use pronouns that often. So our sentence literally translated back to english is "didn't... didn't have(in form for: you, male) this do"
