imagine boobs. are you imagining them. ok. you’re welcome
like riot grrl as a scene wasn’t like woopsie daisy can’t believe no WOC wanted to sign up and join us there was legitimate hostility towards WOC during that movement that’s been documented as well as the inability for many riot grrls to understand intersections of oppression and their own role in upholding it
i mean sonically and aesthetically you can like the riot grrl movement but lets not pretend like there wasn’t huge and glaring flaws about it like every other feminist wave or scene that was primarily white women

this tweet hasn't left my mind once in the two years since it's been posted
Small town culture is knowing that there are Old Folks with strange nicknames but never knowing the stories behind them.
Of course, I made the mistake of asking why everyone calls this one guy Brickaday and it turns out that he worked at a brickyard for 40 years, stealing exactly one brick every day and making no particular efforts to conceal the theft. Nobody thought anything of it until years later he was discovered to have built three houses.
His boss is said to have shrugged and made some remarks about the importance of coming up with a plan and sticking to it.
I‘m trying to arrange my face into an appropriate approximation of silent bafflement and failing miserably.
i appreciate brickaday
chaotic good
My grandpa once told me he worked with a guy called Scrappy at General Motors back in the 50s. Every few days he would wheelbarrow out metal shavings and the foreman was convinced he was stealing things and hiding them in the scrap metal to get it out of the factory. But every time they’d go through the scrap they’d find nothing. He was stealing the wheelbarrows.
One of my late grandfather’s friends was called Salami because he used to steal salami and cured meats so I’m seeing a pattern here

It’s so fucked up how tiktok culture has made clout-poisoned people turn the public into content, every day I see people minding their business have their entire faces put online for thousands of likes, a couple kissing on the train, a lady dancing across a cross walk, a guy nodding his head to the music at a club, a lady buying a banana at the store, ring camera footage of the neighbors kids being stupid. Just let people live jfc
I think I may have made it seem like this is about wholesome content (which my sentiment towards that is the same) but most of the time when I see this stuff people are being ridiculed for being completely normal. And I didn’t make up any of these examples btw, I couldn’t find the dance one but only because there are too many videos of people being recorded at cross walks
(Faces censored and additional text added by me)
Im gonna add this to every post about this i see im never gonna shut up about it. This will get people killed. This will ruin lives. More people live in hiding than you think. So many people are one post away from having to abandon their whole lives. Dont ever post anything of anyone without their consent, stranger or not.
i used to work at a summer camp and one day per summer the organizers would go around and take photos of the kids getting involved in activities to use as promotional photos for the camp website/marketing. obviously this was all done with signed permission from the kids' parents or guardians BUT there were always a significant number of kids who for whatever reason were not allowed to have their photo taken. sometimes cos they just didn't want to be included but most of the time it was for the safety of that kid often due to custody legalities, kids who had people who weren't allowed to know where the child was, who could be put in serious danger if their face was included in any of these photos and if they could be traced to the camp. it was a big deal
these kids were made to wear a recognizable Fluro green t-shirts on the day the photos were taken so that A. the photographer could avoid them and B. if they accidentally ended up in a photo then that photo could be deleted
SO SERIOUSLY TAKING PHOTOS OF STRANGERS AND POSTING THEM ON THE INTERNET MAY PUT THEM IN SERIOUS DANGER so get permission or just don't freakn do it full stop
Here is a pic of Grace Jones shoving cake into Divine’s mouth at what I believe was Grace’s 30th birthday party…you’re welcome!
It’s like “The Creation of Adam,” but relevant to my interests.
my little cousin confidently declared that mother nature had a counterpart named daddy electric and i feel like this concept needs to be explored
Daddy Electric and Mother Nature sounds like a cute 70s act
