Lord help me. Let's count the mistakes here, shall we?
SO. My parents went out to lunch on Friday with a big group of friends. My dad just got a phone call, saying one of the group members went out to lunch, knowing full well they had tested positive for covid the week before. The phone call had been to inform him that it may be a good idea for ALL of us to get tested now. He laughed, and said that it was impossible for him to catch it, since this individual was asymptomatic. Then went off on a rant to the caller that asymptomatic carriers who test positive shouldn't be counted as positive at all. He ended the conversation saying he wouldn't be getting tested, since he's not sick.
We've had similar conversations about covid daily, without any confirmation of exposure to a positive case. My parents are both over 70. He has severe asthma. My mom has heart problems. Everyone knows I totally lost the genetic lottery. Everyone in this household is high risk. He's already said he's ok with us dying to save the economy. But hey, he thinks all the numbers are all fake anyway. I can't deal with this. I can handle myself, but I'm a little more than concerned about the whole situation. Did I mention that we live in Florida?
I don't know why I'm posting this here. I guess it's a slightly more effective method of screaming into the void.
