GO Fan Fiction Friday (29 May 2026) - Reading Dirty Books
Some fic writers like writing smut. And some fic writers like writing our favorite characters reading (and writing) smut. This week, let's look at stories in which our pair read (and write) dirty books.
We'll start with The Angel Line (E) by @fancytrinkets. While shopping for audiobooks to sell in his shop, Aziraphale's attention is caught by a familiar name. Does Crowley narrate smutty audiobooks? Why yes, yes he does. The writer does a great job with Crowley's voice and the fun asides. I could absolutely hear David Tennant reading the words in my head.
SparrowVixen wrote In words I dwell in darkness, with words you lift me up (T) in which Crowley takes up writing romance stories inspires by time he's spent with Aziraphale. Aziraphale is horrified when he discovers them, but not for the reason you might think.
Do you enjoy bad sex puns as much as I do? If so, you'll love "The Devil Made Me Do Him" and other recommended titles (E) by AppleSeeds. When Crowley repairs Aziraphale's e-reader, he discovers some provocative recommendations based on what he's already read. What follows is some ridiculously silly, pun-filled, smut and a much needed conversation between our pair.
@copperplatebeech wrote an entire series called The Rake (E). It begins with Crowley discovering that Aziraphale wrote erotica during their estrangement in the 19th century. In future stories, they resurrect Aziraphale's nom de plume (Chasten Angell) as a way to discuss their fantasies in a safe way. The writer is so good at capturing the tone of a Victorian tale, making for fun reads.
Are you ready for some human AUs on the same theme? More under the gif.
Next, we have Between a Book and a Hard Place (E) by LCWrites. Aziraphale and Crowley have a quickie at an event, never expecting to see each other again. Then Crowley gets the job of narrating a book of Victorian erotical written by Aziraphale. Will sparks fly again?
Aziraphale is a popular, queer romance writer in and now all of my garden is grown in lavender (E) by @ilikeblue. His fans want a glimpse inside his perfect romantic life. Unfortunately, it's all a lie. Will pretending his gardener Crowley is his partner fool anyone?
We're back to AppleSeeds with Passion on the Projector (M). When Crowley enters the room where Aziraphale just finished his lecture, he discovers some interesting material on the overhead projector. Apparently, Professor Fell was reading smut without realizing his laptop was still connected to the projector. Oops.
Finally, In the Margins: The Other Anniversary by @thisisshiny has Aziraphale and Crowley celebrating an anniversary by reading erotica together. You could read this on its own. But it's part of a series. You should start at the beginning. It's terrific!
