Meta-casting: if I cast one friend as Gertrude i can cast his partner as the Ghost, and potentially also as Claudius. Not sure yet if I’ll follow through with that but it’s fun to consider

Getting my friend who plays trombone to play the royal flourishes from the audience.

This will be performed on my back patio and will use, among other entrances and exits, the door to the garage, which I think will be used to represent the afterlife - the Ghost will come & go from it, Ophelia will leave through it before she drowns, and also Hamlet will follow the ghost through it when they first meet.

“These swords are of a length?” And they’re two very obviously different fake swords

The Ghost will be wearing a silver sequin kaftan and a motorcycle helmet
