truly nothing funnier than having an archive of when you first started getting into a media that has since consumed your entire life
you see an old post of yours thats dated like a month after you got introduced to Media and it says like “huh im kinda liking Blorbo Bingus? but he’s not really my favorite. he seems sillyyy though he’s neat i’m sure he’s nice :)” and you just
bookstore had used copies of erha vol 4 and 11. which. obviously i got. but does not solve me not having 3, alas </3
every time you mention one of the volumes i’m like OH MAN THAT ONE IS SO GOO— oh. yeah no that one is emotionally devastating oops.
3 and 4 are my absolute favorite volumes though 🤭 so have fun 🫶🏻
and you may tell yourself: this is not my beautiful circus! and you may tell yourself: these are not my beautiful monkeys!!!

Bi Gan's Resurrection (2025)
Starring Jackson Yee
resurrection is either megalopolis or blade runner or something entirely new. incredibly divisive. makes no sense. I need to watch it over and over I want it explained to me I never want to understand it... undeniable technical mastery of filmmaking though holy shit it's IMPRESSIVE
Jackson Yee as the Deliriant Resurrection (2025), directed by Bi Gan

Don't jerk off in anger
I love characters who are like "I'm a terrible person" but when you look closer it's more like
"I adapted to survive something and now I don't know how to stop being that version of myself."
I would take a job pushing the Sisyphus rock if it paid 20 an hour and I could wear my headphones
i love thinking about the fact that yes, technically i can speak french and read french!!!!! now can i only understand like ten words? yes!!!!
jean surviving in the only universe where Nathaniel dies btw. In case you were wondering

it drives me bonkers the way people don't know how to read classic books in context anymore. i just read a review of the picture of dorian gray that said "it pains me that the homosexual subtext is just that, a subtext, rather than a fully explored part of the narrative." and now i fully want to put my head through a table. first of all, we are so lucky in the 21st century to have an entire category of books that are able to loudly and lovingly declare their queerness that we've become blind to the idea that queerness can exist in a different language than our contemporary mode of communication. second it IS a fully explored part of the narrative! dorian gray IS a textually queer story, even removed from the context of its writing. it's the story of toxic queer relationships and attraction and dangerous scandals and the intertwining of late 19th century "uranianism" and misogyny. second of all, i'm sorry that oscar wilde didn't include 15k words of graphic gay sex with ao3-style tags in his 1890 novel that was literally used to convict him of indecent behaviour. get well soon, i guess...
