I fully believe that conservatives do not want their tax dollars going to fund school lunches for children because they see children not as individual people but rather as extensions of their parents, and they view a child’s hunger as a moral failing of the parent to maintain their property rather than a hungry child being a vulnerable individual that deserves to be fed.
Actually it’s more that we look at the amount of money being spent and the quality of the food being served and don’t like what we’re seeing.
Those of us on the more libertarian side would gladly donate to a charity that provides free lunches, but dislike that money being taken from our paychecks against our will (partially because it denies us the opportunity to choose a charity that will use our money wisely)
what charity are you donating to ?
"Oh, you say you're a good person? Prove it in a way that compromises your financial information!"
Hell I don’t mind my tax dollars going to free and reduced lunches for all kids, but given that a lunch lady was able to steal 1 million dollars in chicken wings, and 250 million was stolen in Somali fraud and Michelle Obama ruined school lunches making them low quality to start, I want every dollar posted publicly in a massive audit so we can really see if the kids are getting the food and it’s of high quality. Every dollar should be accountable. And if a company attempts to price gouge the school/local government they should be sued, fined, and never allowed contract with the county again. That should be standard for all tax dollars but we can start with schools cause I also want the schools to buy extra supplies for their teachers as well.
Better yet let’s do charter school and vouchers that way the money is tied to the kid and not the schools and the property around the schools.
And get rid of teachers unions, they keep bad teachers employed we don’t need those
