You could fill the Library of Alexandria with the breadth of knowledge I don't have, but what I do know is that innocent people are hurting, and I don't like to see innocent people hurting, so in any given scenario where I see people being hurt I ask "Who is doing the most harm?" "Who is getting hurt the most?" and "What can I do about it?" Right now the people getting hurt the most are palestinians, iranians, and anyone else who has suffered as a consequence of the US's thirst for power and wealth, ukrainians, the exploited workers being paid sub-minimum wage in China, the people who don't have jobs because they lost them to automation and AI, the people placed in American prisons for things that shouldn't be crimes in the first place to act as 21st century slaves and the people still serving time for things that are no longer crimes, especially black and brown communities in the US, my trans brothers and sisters who are being denied access to life-saving treatment and hunted by predators even in the most queer-friendly country in the world, gay people who still can't express their love openly in 65 countries, with some countries that do allow it revoking what should be a fundamental human right, the people being deported to unsafe and/or unfamiliar countries, people of religious and ethnic minorities, people suffering from food insecurity despite an obscene amount of food waste, those who can't afford proper medical care, making treatable illnesses potentially life-threatening and risking another pandemic, refugees being deported over baseless fear mongering of hidden terrorists and drug dealers, jewish people who have experienced an uptick in hate both as a response to zionism they themselves don't support and anti-semetic nazis being more emboldened to take hateful stances, disabled people who suffer from a lack of general education in society on how to treat us like fucking human beings deserving of the dignity to live our lives with our disabilities, homeless people who live on the street because people think profit is more important than putting a roof over people's head, and so, so many more I haven't even heard of. And the primary people causing and benefitting from this suffering? Billionaires, zionists, racists, xenophobes, homophobes, transphobes(just general queerphobes), drug dealers and terrorists, nazis, landlords, and all the people who eat off the backs of those they view as lesser than them when they could not survive without us. So if you ask me who I support in any given situation, I stand with the oppressed against those who have only ever taken what wasn't theirs. And what do I do about it? I march, I protest, I show up with supplies in case the cops get violent, I educate the people around me, and if I am given a space to speak I will damn well make it count. And I wish I could do more, but I'm barely hanging on as it is, I myself am near-constantly on the brink of starvation, and the only reason I'm not homeless is because my dad won't let me be, but the fact of the matter is that if tomorrow even a fraction of the people causing these messes woke up and decided to put human compassion above their own self-interests they could acomplish a million-fold in a single day than what I could accomplish in my entire life.
