it never fails to drive me crazy that hollywood has supposedly churned out tons of "anti vietnam war films" but none of them ever have any vietnamese characters who are allowed to speak. and then you can turn on a ww2 movie and the germans get to talk and talk and talk!

every time i watch some piece of media about how abused children need to put in the work to understand their poor put upon parents i think about the scene in the asoue netflix show where klaus is told his shitty boss had a terrible childhood and says "i'm having a very terrible childhood right now". like damn gottem pack it up we can stop doing this narrative in film and literature now

Buffy acting like the only vampire that got her hot was Angel right after sexathon with Spike that went on for so long he lost count and she didn’t even notice the building around them collapsed… yeah girl sure.

This isn’t my usual content and I don’t usually like talking about things I don’t like (I try to curate a page dedicated to enjoying things I do like because there is more than enough criticism online already) but if people don’t stop being hyper-critical of Supergirl and shitting on Milly Alcock’s appearance (for NO REASON, mind you. She is absolutely stunning) I’m going to absolutely lose it. Films receiving criticism is one thing, but most of these takes are in bad faith and many people went in primed to hate it and nitpick everything about it and it’s really getting exhausting. I’m going to keep trying to filter out all the hate and only put positive posts on this blog, but I loved the movie and it’s so disheartening to see people brushing it off when it doesn’t deserve nearly this much hate. Fucking Morbius didn’t get this much hate. It’s annoying

i don’t give shit what anyone says, i don’t care what the ratings are and what the “critics” are saying, i loved Supergirl 2026. i loved every second of it and im not gonna change my mind on it. it doesn’t need to be the next greatest superhero movie ever made. i saw it and i loved it so much!!!!

And the thing is so many men who have reviewed this movie will never understand what it means to take on the burden so that someone who is young and innocent can live a full and better life than you ever could

You know, there's this cliché that teenage boys always eat massive amounts, but teenage girls really aren't that different if they're not suppressed by diet culture and body shaming. Like, I was a teenage girl who frankly just stopped bothering to fit into mainstream beauty ideals at some point, and I would regularly make myself just one big massive pot of pasta and devour it completely. This wasn't even stress eating or anything, I just genuinely needed the energy because you know, I was a teenager and my body was developing. I feel like so many teenage girls think they need to eat as little as possible to be petite and pretty, but the truth is that your body is developing just as intensely as teenage boys' bodies. Eat more, please, your body needs it.
