gaiwan - lidded bowl; your brewing vessel.

gongdaobei / fairness cup - pour tea from gaiwan into this first before serving so that everyone's cup of tea gets the same concentration of tea.

tea tray - catches water spills.

teacups - variable sizes, usually small.

cha he - a tea scoop, for measuring out your tea and presenting it before brewing. has a pick so you can push the tea into the gaiwan / teapot without touching it.

tea tools / 'six gentlemen' - most important here are the small scoop and the tongs. mine also have a teacup holder, a brush, and a pick for prying apart tea cakes.

strainer - this one is just a normal ceramic strainer, others may be metal mesh or even skeletonized leaves. you put it on top of the gongdaobei before you pour from the gaiwan into it, so small leaf bits don't get into the liquor. it has a teacup-shaped stand underneath that catches any drips when it's not in use, you can see different angles of it in my tea tag.

tea towel - just a tea towel, to wipe spills and the bottom of cups before serving.

tea pet - gets the first rinse and any dregs or leftovers poured on it. just for fun.

everyone's gongfu set is different, some people use teapots instead of gaiwans, some people don't bother with half of this stuff. theoretically you could downsize to just a gaiwan and teacup especially if you're just brewing for one. if you want to see how they're used, though, you can find example videos on youtube like this one.

Mirror: It is Shen Yuan who's fairest

Shen Jiu: Holy shit, he's cute. I think I'm going to marry him

Mirror: I thought you wanted to kill him?

Shen Jiu: gets even meaner, but also cries. Actively telling you to go kill yourself with tears streaming down his face. He ways like 2 pounds and has a veeeeery low tolerance as well.

Shen Yuan: bubbly and touchy feely. He giggles and clings to people, just hanging all over them. Has a slightly better tolerance than Shen Jiu, but not by much.

Yue Qingyuan: tries really hard to still be normal but he’s worse at it. He talks abruptly and loudly, his smile is obviously strained, and he can’t resist the allure of floor time. Can hold gallons of liquor- partially bc he’s huge and partially because of Xuan Su

Liu Qingge: insists he isn’t drunk. If he’s standing still it can be hard to tell that he is because he just gets quieter and stares harder. Has okay tolerance but he doesn’t like the taste of many beverages. He will stick to yummy little cocktails.

Shang Qinghua: Develops level of hubris previously contained to Greek myth. He thinks he can do anything, including jumping fences and fist fighting. He can also drink anyone under the table.

Qi Qingqi: Flirty drunk. She will talk about her exes and she will try to make you one of them. She’s a long time drinking buddy of Shang Qinghua and the only other peak lord capable of matching him shot per shot.

Wei Qingwei: the only peak lord that successfully pulls off being normal while drunk. He’s friendly and out going even when he hasn’t been day drinking rosé. Wei Qingwei lives that wine mom lifestyle and has a reasonably high tolerance.
