When the Heavymedic duos meet on the battlefield

Haven't been able to draw for a while so these seemed like simple doodles to do that demanded a little bit, but not too much, creativity!

All I can remember from the og concept was (and its so cliche): the siblings steal the princess from her castle because the king sucks and they want to use her as ransom to make the king not suck that much idk. Then cat girl is like I actually like this life better and something something she cuts her hair and ends up....back in the castle? But like...not as queen. So...king got better? Idk.

I tried to make it look similar to your art style, which, you can judge how well it turned out yourself, i never tried drawing in someone else’s style before and it was an…educating experience for sure. It definitely made me appreciate your art so much more than I did before.

Oh my god?? Firstly, a summer camp with kid mercs would be chaos and they'd burn down a building doing something like this, yes.

Secondly: This is so adorable?? The mercs peeking in, sniperspy locking eyes and blushing while seconds away from causing a fire? Awww! Medic is either going "yea maybe the fire isnt smart" or "hmm looks gay to me". Love it.

Now, if I may, be a nerd about this. This kind of let's me see my art style from your eyes and it is fascinating! Like, when I look at Snipers face, I can see my style there! I kind of realize how and why it's in my style! Then there is the hatching and placement of the black shadows and the hair shapes and and and

Fascinating!! Then I can also see what elements are made in your style! Like the knees and how the fabric bunches, for example!. Does that make sense?

Oooh I am full of excitement now. This is so cool to see!! AND! So cute. I even think kid Spy would be easier to get along with, there wouldn't be so many defensive walls up. He might even a bit nicer. Maybe.

I've followed you for years on my personal blog, but I'm riding the momentum from ArtFight so when I saw your childhood OCs post I felt inspired to draw your monkey magical girl. (She didn't have color on her body so I've made it white like the paper.) P.S. I followed you for your OC comics, the dragon boy and dwarves and stuff, but you do these TF2 guys so well I stay on and go "nice" when they pop up in my feed. Good art is good art

I am happily overwhelmed to see this!!! I know her team has more characters but I didn't find any art of them. Bear girl is the only one I rememeber as a concept!

There was a very light coloring for the skin in the OG art BUT (it didnt show in the photo lol also), actually, when I was a kid I didn't have any good skin colors. Like browns or beige or anything. I had orange and pink. I think I got better colors when I was hight school age? Anyway. So I "faked" the skin by lightly doing it in orange or leaving the skin white LOL

Just a fun fact. These days I think I'd make her like a grey monkey. Or a lemur.

I have so many feelings about burnout and art block. I am no, ya know, professional or anything but these are the ways I see it. Art Block is a way to say "I am having a hard time and it's affecting my ability to enjoy making art" not "I am not doing enough to get better at art/I am not a good artist".

It tricks you into thinking that! AND! What I did not mention, always remember that your eyes and mind become "better at art" first! Your hand takes a bit longer to follow. (aka you can hear what a good guitar playing sounds like but it takes time to make your fingers move the way you need them to, ya know)
