both movies aren't focused on a romance (which is great) so for the AU closer to hail mary what if instead of recording her findings jyn could still chat with cassian but on a time delay? then he would be withholding information from her about how she wound up on the ship (maybe jyn replaced her father on the crew after he died in an explosion that's krennic's fault) which could lead to an Eadu-like argument. (meanwhile rocky: jyn friend mad question? jyn mad at friend question?) then the tragedy is not that they die before they have more time together, but that they can never have time together

oh them having an argument while they’re light years from each other is such a good idea actually… maybe cassian knew something about her father’s death but couldn’t tell her and when jyn finds out she gets mad about it but he’s millions of kilometers away and she can’t punch him so she just stop replying to his messages. the idea of jyn having a friend like rocky is so amazing I adore it <33

the last part hit me like a truck anon 😭 imagining jyn never comes back to earth or when she does it’s been so many years and he’s gone but time passed differently for her so she’ll just have to miss him for the rest of her life… bye
