when beron at the meeting tells feyre how it was like for other high lords and their family, feyre shuts that out and only thinks of rhysand’s sacrifice

You literally just met these people, and you’re already speaking badly about your sisters to them? That really bothered me.

So Tamlin kept quiet the entire time Under the Mountain. He didn't bargain for his own freedom, didn't plead with Amarantha to let Feyre go. But he broke his silence for Lucien?? To literally beg for mercy for him?

The whole point of Tamlin's silence was to avoid showing Amarantha how she can hurt him most, what breaks him. He endures it all in silence and yet Lucien being in danger is when he can't bear to keep quiet any longer. Lucien's the one thing that breaks his self-restraint!

And then Amarantha forces Tamlin to whip Lucien himself?? Tamlin, the protector, who tried desperately to keep Lucien safe and who then has to be the one to hurt him with no way to refuse?

Is it any wonder Tamlin then has such a hard time showing his true feelings in book 2? Look at what it got him the last time he did.

Tamlin dismantled his father's old ruling structure, got rid of slavery, welcomed refugees and included their traditions in the yearly celebrations of his subjects, walked among and played for his people, didn't enforce rank, had both male and female sentries and gave more options to people who can't pay a tithe instead of enforcing traditional hunting

Spring Court citizens are very accepting of new traditions and are sexualy liberal. They welcomed refugees as one of their own, gladly celebrate their traditions with them and they don't see orgies and open sexual acticities as something strange or immoral. Spring Court also doesn't have brothels which indicates there is no need for them in a society so accepting of casual sexual relationships

It's bizzare how the narrative in acomaf tries to reframe it as conservative, how it ignore all the previous informations presented to the readers in the first acotar book.

Instead it gaslit readers into believing that isolated, segregated, slums having, brothels having, female mutilation performing Night Court is somehow less conservative and traditional. As if IC didn't shame and punished Nesta for sleeping around, as if Rhysand didn't constantly enforce rank on other people, as if the ban on wing clipping wasn't enforced

Feyre in the Spring Court run around in tunics, rode horses, visited villages and hunted.

Feyre in the Night Court was imprisoned in a palace and a bubble, forced to wear sexy dresses Rhysand choose for her, got pregnant at very young age and was paraded around with heavy belly and skimpy dress do satisfy her husband's male pride

When Tamlin had to make a woman profess her love for him in order to save all of Prythian at the risk of her getting harmed, he sent Feyre home.

What prompted her to walk ALL THE WAY down the stairs to Velaris?

the difference is not “morality,” it’s material harm.

aedion's mask is a lie. the violence he's known for does not actually happen.

rhysand’s “mask” is just… branding.

the narrative keeps insisting that his cruelty is an act, but then: – the torture still happens – the victims still exist – the trauma is still real – the power imbalance is still enforced

“he’s pretending to be awful” only works if the awfulness isn’t real.

you do not get moral credit for being secretly kind to Velaris while knowingly ruling a court built on terror and exploitation. that’s not a mask; that’s compartmentalization.

aedion takes on a reputation so others don’t have to suffer.

rhysand maintains a reputation by making sure people do suffer and then asks the reader to applaud him because he has an inner monologue about how hard it is.

I know that there's plenty of theories about Rhysand possibly being Valg. But this scene I just read !!!!!!

When Maeve forces Aelin to bow, the moment it just identical to when Rhysand made Tamlin bow for Feyre’s life in the first ACOTAR book.

It’s not just the act itself it’s the dynamic: the calculated humiliation, the forced submission. Once I read it I immediately remembered Rhysand and Tamlin

The crown in question:

Second, what do you mean you both killed Amarantha. No, you did not. Tamlin was the one who did that. Feyre only saved the Spring Court by solving the riddle, and she died before Amarantha. Rhysand did nothing to actually kill her.
