This one hurts. Because what is the excuse? I know no one wants this and there’s a moral weight of choosing the less of two evils, but I can’t remember Tamlin’s reasoning for doing nothing. He was probably doing something in backend here? Was he working with Hybern here already? I can’t remember!

But I like that this line has two tones from Rhys. At first glance, the night courts high lord—Amarantha’s whore—is being his typical ass self. Knowing the underlying story—it’s Rhys goading him to do something. Challenging him for help as the time is ticking.

For him to add:

I don't remember the post or the chapter, but I think you'll know what I'm talking about.

I think the few times I felt sorry for Rhys were when Feyre used the fact that he was afraid to show who he really is because he didn't want to lose anyone.

Of course Rhys was being self-centered when he made that stupid villain-hero analogy, and even threw it in Feyre's face that she should start thinking about what she wants someday, but I really I feel sorry after Feyre said that nobody would want to deal with the mess that is Rhys. Not that Feyre isn't one too, right? Not that any character in this universe isn't a mess, it's just that some don't hide behind masks.(This whole mask thing irritates me... Thanks to ACOTAR I've started to find this metaphor corny)

I don't remember if Rhys apologizes to Feyre for saying she needed to think about what she wanted, even knowing it was difficult for her, after realizing she no longer wanted the same thing in the first book with Tamlin. All I remember is that Feyre started being ignored and apologized to Rhys for lowering her standards so much. (It reminded me of Nestha, who uses words as weapons.)

On my first read through, this is when I went, “Oh! That’s her person. That’s why I don’t feel anything with her and Tamlin.”
