This one's a shout-out to all my #cosplay friends who are of color but dressing as a white character, girls cosplaying a boy, boys cosplaying a girl. Genderbends, mash-ups, and original variations. If you don't look like the character, wear them proud anyways. Do what you do and dont even bother hearing the haters. If they cant physically stop you, then you shouldn't let them. Dont pull your post cuz of comments. Let the racists, sexists, extremists, and fan boys be outraged alone. A baby will stop crying when it realizes no one is listening. And if someone does try and stop you at a con, come find me. I know there are a few bad eggs out there, but some of my #cosplay #friends are the sweetest people and yet still get called rude, b****es, and other awful names for simple misunderstandings. They find out by fans that word is going around about attitudes they don't have. I hear about celebrity cosplayers being rude and I empathize with them cuz, I've been there. Cosplaying is fun, but it's not an obligation. We're not staff, we're fans too and we are at the con for more than just the pics. A group of friends of mine missed our only chance to get to artist alley because we kept getting stopped for photos, and eventually had to tell people to stop to try and make it, and they gave us looks like we were the worst. We're sorry, but try and #UnderstandCosplay. I had to bump up the brightness to see the details but you can finally see what I've got right, and wrong.
