Weirdest part is I'm also asexual (sex neutral I think the concept is fascinating but have no intention to ever do the horizontal tango) but when I tell an adult that they immediately go "Oh you don't know that everyone wants to have sex eventually!!" Like.... Double standard much?

I personally think dirty jokes are hilarious and Cards Against Humanity is one of my favourite card games. Yet adults treat it like it's wrong for us to know about something that has been done for literally the entirety of the human race's existence?

I legitimately thought for like two years after they gave us our first sex talk at school in fifth grade that if two people happened to be standing near each other and wanted a baby it would happen. I thought sperm were transmitted through the air like freaking wifi because while they told us about sperm and eggs and such, they didn't explain how the sperm got to the egg in the first place. I learned the truth around halfway through year seven because of fanfiction.net btw. You know you're doing a horrible job when the kids are learning more from fanfiction from like 2014 than they are from your classes.

and i think most parents know this, but are just being intentionally cruel, because truthfully, i think a lot of them like seeing their child cry. they like the “tantrum”. think about how many videos you’ve seen where a child’s being mean or rude or whatever, and they get hit or hurt themselves and start crying. all the comments are full of people going “music to my ears” and “deserved”. i think a lot of people relish in the suffering of children. i think that’s part of why CSA is so common from family members. it’s because to these people, the crying and lashing out is just. bad.

Children should not need parental permission for medical care!! This doesn't just apply to life or death care*! A pregnant teen should be able to get an abortion without parental permission! Let teens go on birth control without parental permission! A kid should be able to see a doctor about a mental condition that is harming them and get it treated, even if their parent "doesn't believe it's real".

KIDS SHOULD BE ABLE TO HAVE MEDICAL AUTONOMY!!!!!

roblox rolls out their age group system, and you can no longer talk to any adults on the platform. you can only talk to people in person, i.e. your parents, who are horrid. now you're back at square one, being helplessly abused. to make it worse, you're homeschooled, as I was. you can't reach out to anyone at school for support either.

or maybe you're not homeschooled, and you ask your pronouns to be used at school. it goes well for a while, and you feel some relief.

then your state passes a bill that requires forced outing. your teachers report to your parents that you've been trying out a different name and pronouns.

they pull you from school, send you to boarding school or conversion therapy, and force you to attend private schools in the future that match their values.

you are entirely under their control. you could've made connections with other adults, ones willing to help you out. to treat you like a human, give you access to life saving care. and it's stripped away, you're alone, and everything feels hopeless.
