heyy so i'm rebranding here too

new name, new banner, new icon... from "teka-chat" to "tekatopic" ( what do you think, is it humorous ? is it clever ? )

i'll be honest i'm not too sure what to do with this blog. it just. doesn't give me any good feelings. i just feel stressed when i'm looking through it, and i really would like that not to be the case.

i know i haven't been posting much art here, or well, posting at all.... but we're gonna try.

Mozilla, in its finite wisdom, embedded LLM bots into recent versions of Firefox for the vitally-important purpose of… naming tab groups. Now, some users are noticing CPU and power usage spikes caused by a background process called Inference.

Ugh. Reminder again for Firefox users to visit your about:config page, search for the browser.ml.chat.enabled key, and set that to false:

If yours says true then double-click it until it reads false.

Doing that turns off the AI chatbot features in Firefox, but also the stupid new LLM tab-naming feature that's rolling out.

irritatingly, the list of AI settings in Firefox has grown. to kill them all as of today (Nov 20, 2026), go into about:config and set all of these to false (yes, you'll have to copy and paste them one by one):

Yeah I use the Firefox forks Zen for my PC and Ironfox for my phone. Ditch Mozilla Firefox, I'm sorry but it's gone over to the dark side.

blocking tip: you don't have to wait to have a negative interaction with someone to block them. you can block them without ever interacting with them. I can't tell you how many times I've seen someone being rude to someone else and preemptively blocked them

Aah I love that! Now interestingly- although the photo is unfortunate, Schleich didn't ENTIRELY forget how wings work. Instead of being attached to her chest, they're in the "proper" position at the withers, and the mare is supposed to be standing with her wings folded, like this:

But you'll note that Schleich forgot some key visual indicators to show us this from the angle we're looking at. Namely, defining the chicken wing (shown in red) would have really helped us to understand what we were seeing.

Feathers have their own anatomy. The Schleich figure's are upside down, backwards, showing the wrong side of the wing, and angled incorrectly. Fixing the feathers would have done a lot here.

I'm very aware that I'm in a poor position to come across as nitpicky, as my own art is so slapdash and scribbly - but I comfort myself by knowing that it's just me doing it (rather than a whole design team) and that I don't charge money.

On the off chance it's helpful to anyone, I wanted to drop my Imago Palestina project here.

I started this a year ago as a way of helping people in my community overcome bias/propaganda and start seeing Palestinians as their neighbours, not numbers. I've had multiple people tell me it helped them coax fence-sitting or even Zionist family members back to humanity.

I also offer free resources (including posters & postcards and the print files for the magazine version) so that the labour of getting started is lessened and we can get to doing what we can. I firmly believe that we all have something we can do to help.
