Freaky Eyes
more doodles of this thing. not necessarily representative of the final thing lol.
My greatest struggle (/sarc) is that I do not like Billy joins Batfam fics.
It just feels like a misreading of his character. I can't properly explain it. It's like, this character has gone as far as being his own legal guardian (certainly committing identity fraud in the process) to avoid being adopted. Being taken in by Bats would not be a happy ending for him.
"Oh but it's about Billy finally feeling safe enough to accept support and help" Billy has a family. He has siblings and an uncle and a wizard and a tiger and a 'villain'. He has a support system already. Billy doesn't handle things alone, he just also doesn't abide by a traditional family dynamic that looks familiar as 'support'.

Hey. Which comics would you recommend if I want to get to know Damian better? Thank you
Sorry for taking a while, I wanted to make a decent list, I'll add more if I think of any <3
These are the most obvious titles I could think of. Keep in mind that Damian's in a fuck ton of comics so don't overwhelm yourself. In general, you could just pick up any comic with an art style you like and go from there because you can Google any confusing parts 😭
The Boy Wonder - Juni Ba
Putting this at the top of the list because it's the shortest and most standalone story I can think of. It's just a little 5 issue comic about Damian struggling in an environment so different from the one he grew up in and learning from the past Robins what it means to be a Robin. It's kind of an elseworld's story but It's good if you don't want to read a whole run but you're still interested in learning the basics of the character. And the art! The colouring! Ugh, It's great.
Batman - Morrison
Obligated to mention the run Damian was introduced in. Fair warning if you plan to read the whole run, I was sooooo fucking confused while reading this shit and it's just A LOT. Maybe you could skip the three batmen arc right to The Resurrection of Ra's Al Ghul cus that's when Damian shows up again because Ra's is trying to put his soul in Damian's body. That's kinda what I wish I'd done. Also I hated the art.
Batman and Robin - Morrison
The famous Dick Grayson Batman and Damian Robin comic! People hype this book up a lot (maybe a liiiittle too much if I ask me) It's still compelling tho with Dick struggling to carry the Batman mantle and Damian still trying to find his footing as Robin. It does a lot for both characters and seeing them grow to trust and respect each other is cool. I definitely gained a new appreciation for Dick. If u find u don't really care for the whole 'Is Batman Dead?' thing then you can skip to issue 20 cus past that point it's basically Dick and Damian having one off adventures and it's really fun. TW: stupid pill head Jason.
Batman and Robin - Tomasi (0-8)
God, the first 8 issues of this are soooooo good. Some of the best Damian and Bruce I've read. It follows them in the beginning of their relationship and how they struggle to connect with their very different world views. Both sides of Damian, the trained killer and the child, are shown and explored very well. Titus is introduced here, and also Damian being an artist, where it's shown that he uses his art to channel his violent urges which is a great way to show his growth when he starts expressing other emotions through his art in later comics. The run completely derails into event tie-ins after issue 8 and then Damian dies in a separate comic but gets revived in this one, everything's confusing unless you follow a reading guide with like 5 other comics on it so if you don't wanna read all that issues 0-8 are a must read for understanding Damian's early days as Robin and his relationship with Bruce.
Robin: Year of Blood - Gleason
Follows Damian going on a trial of redemption after he gets resurrected to make up for some of the things he did when he was in the league. Goliath origin and Maya Ducard! Also gives us an interesting look at Damian and Talia's relationship after she killed him and her trying to redeem herself in her own way and Damian's obviously conflicted feelings about that.
Super sons - Tomasi
Damian goes on adventures with his sidekick best friend, Jon Kent! Very fun and light-hearted. The banter is great and the art is punchy.
Robin (2021) - Williamson
Damian strikes it out on his own again but this time he's trying to work through his grief after the death of Alfred (largely because of his actions) in the King run (which I'll eventually one day maybe). He enters himself into the Lazarus Tournament so he can win the prize and resurrect Alfred. This is where Conner Hawk and Flat line come in.
Batman and Robin (2023) - Williamson
I think this is good for understanding what the setting is like in current comics and where Bruce and Damian are at in their relationship. It's still ongoing and I haven't caught up with it in a while but it feels like Williamson really gets Damian and is trying to really push past the whole murder child who has feelings sometimes schtick. Will he succeed in making this more mature Damian a staple in DC? Probably not, but I still like it. Damian's doctor arc starts here and he's still struggling with who he wants to be but it's instead about him finding his own path rather than trying to live up to his brother's and father's legacy.

I think one of the negative effects of spending too much time as Captain Marvel (Shazam) for Billy is that he starts referring to kids his age and older as stuff like “sport” whilst he’s Billy out of pure habit
prehistoric tsugesuo
random wbk theory
tsuge and suo will share a backstory arc.
i dont know why or how but imagine how cute that would be. and yes thats me talking as one of the two tsugeura fans but they know each other.
thats. thats literally it. they just know each other. thats all we know about either of them. i mean we know suo had a teacher. but thas it.
TALK TO ME BRO IM SO RARARARRRARARARAR
ANY TSUGE CONTENT IS A 5 COURSE MEAL FOR ME I B E G.
Some of my Tsugesuo HCs u might want to digest 😉:
- They were neighbors at one point. Could be sometime in their late elem or early junior high days
- Tsuge knows what's hidden behind Suo's eyepatch, maybe whatever's on his nape/neck too
- Suo has snapped at least once on Tsuge
- One of them has a on old item from the other (like maybe Tsuge keeps a vintage hairpin that Suo dropped or Suo keeping a bandage wrap lent by Tsuge
stares with big ol eyes
MMMMMMM. THATS A SPICY MEATBALL.
bro tsuge knowing what's under that eyepatch before anyone else would be the greatest thing known to man. it would be so endearing too bcs he's so bad at keeping secrets but this is one that he knows is suo's and suo's alone and and and aaaaaa-
bet, tsuge's headband is suo's. ough. good lord.
man im gonna lose it youre filling my head with thoughts i cant be allowed to be here.
Ik ik, I’ve got over WIPS. But I HAD to do this one first. I’ve been thinking about writing a fic based on this post for a long while and I’m happy to announce I’ve finally begun posting! The prologue is out rn I’m just finishing up on the first and second parts.
For an overview: Billy gets amnesia and his powers taken away via the “very smart” reasonings of the Justice League. This definitely will not have any consequences.

BART ALLEN READING ORDER
For those who, like me, when they like a character they need to read every single comic the character appears in, I have compiled a list of all of Bart Allen’s appearances from his debut up to the 2011 Flashpoint reboot (he was not a part of New 52 continuity).
And there’s also the extended list (including cameos) as a spreadsheet.

Hii🙈🙈 do you perhaps have any bart and wally comic recs? I want to read more of them both but I can't find any reading orders or a jumping off point besides barts debut. Thank yew in advance💝
Here is a reading guide, I am doing this mostly by memory and looking at my own reading list/notes on their relationship, so I know I am not hitting every single comic they appear in together, but it's still pretty comprehensive imo. They start off VERY rocky, but once Bart becomes Kid Flash things between them are written less grating as they come to an understanding of each other and respect each other more.
Note: this is all pre-Flashpoint and these issues focus on their interactions/feelings between each other, a lot of it pretty caustic. Some issues might have only one panel, others many pages.

Okay might be weird but I didn't get into comics since 2018? And I just get that shit back to me and I do read comics but I honestly feel a lil clueless so is there comics you think that are must read?
This depends pretty much entirely on what character(s) you want to read. I've been into comics for about six/seven months jumping around comics. I don't know what qualifies as a must read for you since it depends, but these are some of the comics I've read to get an understanding of the characters I've been the most into so far:
Batman: Year One (might as well)
Batman: The Cult <- cool
Batman: Death in the Family <- Jason dies
Batman: A Lonely Place of Dying <- Tim's intro
Robin (1993) <- Tim's solo Robin run
Batman: Contagion <- cool Bats and Timbin stuff
Red Hood: Lost Days <- Jason before Red Hood
Batman: Under The Red Hood <- self explanatory
Batgirl (2000) <- Cass as Batgirl
Batman by Grant Morrison (dont care much about except for Damian, leads into Batman dying or whatever)
Batman and Robin by Grant Morrison vol 1 2 and 3 (this is Dickbats and Damibin)
Red Robin
We Are Robin <- Duke :)
Batman and Robin (2011) vol 1 and 2
Robin: Son of Batman <- DAMIAN (Robin War <- more duke -> tied in)
Batgirl (2009) <- Steph as Batgirl
Robin (2021) <- Damian solo
Batman Vs Robin
Batman and Robin (2021) <- Damian and Bruce
Batman and Robin (2023) <- Damian and Bruce
Comics are so vast you also have to kinda find your preference for what age/reset of comics you enjoy and the writers, etc. I've read the most Damian so that's where most of my knowledge skews/will be provided. Plus a lot of them will cross over into different ones based on the arcs and if it's apart of an event, like Shadow War or Dark Crisis.
For Dick Grayson, also, my plan next anyway is reading Batman: The Long Halloween -> Batman: Dark Victory -> Robin: Year One (2000) -> Teen Titans (2008) followed by his Nightwing (1996) years, and The New Teen Titans ones. And So on, (Batman: The Black Mirror, Batman: Dark Knight vs White knight, whatever) depending on how I feel. SO!! reading lists, for sure!! Find out who you like and jump around, you know? Explore!!
Also, not Batfamily at all, but Static is also a great comic from DC set in a diff city and universe. Do recommend.
I am having feelings about reverse robins where Bruce's first sidekick is Duke and they're called Signals instead of Robins. Bruce showing up on that rooftop with Duke for the first time and Duke making comments about how if Bruce is the dark shadow bat part of the signal then he's going to be the light that surrounds him and the batsignal is for the Bat and Signal. Bruce with the yellow circle on his symbol representing Duke's light too so he's carrying that symbol with him. The whole mentor/partner over parent dynamic and Damian coming in not knowing if he can match up is juicy too.
Bonus if Duke only unlocks his powers after becoming independant so its just been a metaphor up until then.
eepy duke and damian ft alfred for @spinninggaround via @dcforgaza
I've seen a bunch of "fandom etiquette" posts on my dash today and I'm going to say something that is maybe going to be unpopular but;
The absolutely pervasive mentality that unwanted criticism or critique shouldn't be given and should be ignored is why fans of color don't stay in fan spaces.
And I am not going to mince words here:
A lot of you are racist. A lot of your fan works are racist.
That might have been difficult to hear. And if it was, you should probably reflect on why that was.
"Fandom etiquette" has created a space where fans of color either bite our tongues and eventually leave or say something, get dogged on, and then eventually leave.
So much of "fandom etiquette" seems to be about insulating creatives from Feeling Bad and hostility to any kind of negative feedback is a pretty big contributor to why bigotry festers in these spaces.
