I'm new-ish on the scene for this one but god is it good. Lovely designs, really interesting lore, and fun character dynamics straight from the jump. Just look at that art! I could rave about it for an hour. It's so ethereal, yet intense. This comic is also by the creator of Glitter and Guilt (18+), which I've seen around and been meaning to read, and only ever heard good things about.

Laika's Comet by Fourleaf

"Laika, a dog-girl mechanic, travels across a post-apocalyptic Furth to repair farming equipment and various green-powered tech for citizens who can't do so themselves. Small-town hero by day, Laika and her adoptive father Yue seek to study the very thing that set Furth off kilter to begin with - a comet from deep space with mysterious powers."

I feel like I have a lot of crossover with Laika's Comet's audience, so people probably already know this one, but I wanted to recommend it anyway. It's really lovely. I really enjoy its balance of light-hearted and more serious scenes, and its somewhat slower pace compared to other entries here. The way it uses color to tell its story is wonderful. As ever, Fourleaf has a magical way with character designs.

Corporate Western by Charish_cherish

"A sci-fi Western meets an 80s workplace. Misty Faisal has been plagued by strange dreams in which she sits at a “desk” and inputs numbers into a “computer” with a “mouse” and “keyboard”. It’s in odd contrast with her day job, working as a bounty hunter in a sprawling desert trying to find her latest target, the Headless Horse-Man."

I love this comic. It's such a strange concept and mashup of genres, but it's super fun, and the art style is perfect for the story. Both worlds are fascinating and interestingly juxtaposed, Misty is a great protagonist, and it's got just enough mystery floating around to keep you hooked. Also, Misty has a dog-alpaca-horse thing (nick)named Housanee. I love Housanee. You should love Housanee too.

The Sword Interval by Ben Fleuter

"A rookie monster hunter sets off on a road trip to kill the lich the ruined her life. A modern-fantasy action/adventure/ horror story."

This one is a reformatting of a webtoon that ran a few years back, but I'm recommending it regardless. It's a blast. Awesome monster designs, shady secret organizations, a protagonist with mild impulse control issues and Something Weird going on-- this comic has it all. I'm a little obsessed with it at the moment. Also, the art is just jaw dropping at every turn. If you think I do a lot of backgrounds, you should check this bad boy out.

DIASTEMA by Dean/SmokeyJinn

This comic revolves around the supernatural adventures (and misadventures) of a group of misfits as they seek to uncover a hidden truth about their universe. Will they survive the battles their lives throw at them? What would they discover about their humanity along the way? Tune in to find out.

To be honest, I have only a vague idea of what's actually going on in DIASTEMA at the moment-- I suspect most of that's by design, as it's pretty early into its run-- but the characters are clever, the fight scenes are nuts, and the art is drop-dead gorgeous. A darker tale involving murder and demons, with some of the coolest VFX I've seen in a comic.

MOTHER'S THOUSAND EYES by Holycorrupt

MOTHERS THOUSAND EYES (Or MTE for short) is a queer fantasy comic about a universe created by a young Goddess named MOTHER, and her children called 'Blessed' who are born into this world through humans. In this world, they are treated as items of worship until they age and grow into 'Corrupt' In which they are readily thrown away. A man named Sam finds himself caught between his sense of duty as a soldier for the holy church of MOTHER, and his heart after befriending a Corrupt man named Francis. As they become closer Sam finds himself learning more and more about the dark underbelly of the world he was once so oblivious to. Will he become the Catalyst of change? Or will his whole life fall apart before his very eyes?

MOTHER'S THOUSAND EYES is another one still relatively early into its run, but it opens with a gorgeous creation story to introduce the titular MOTHER that hooked me from the get-go. Really interested to see where this one takes its story in the future. The art style is excellent as well.

Peony by heyitscorinth

A webcomic about a thieving young woman named Peony and her unfortunate run-in with a mysterious criminal. May contain bloody hijinks and bad language.

This one's a fun one. Body-swapping super(?)villains, unlikely team-ups, and a super fun saturated look. It's really, really funny, too. I was kind of surprised by how I hadn't heard of this one already, to be honest. It's super clean, super well-composited, and already such a blast to read. Also the website is sooo pretty

Gut Flora by hrvdaya

GUT FLORA is a supernatural horror drama set in South India. Watch as partners-in-ghost-hunting, Rohan and Shaila, investigate the ruins of a mysterious botanical cult, who disappeared ten years ago after their temple and everyone in it was swallowed up by a sinkhole. They are aided by Kajal, the only remaining survivor of the cult, who claims to remember nothing about it. But she’s not the only one keeping secrets…

Unlike all the other comics here, Gut Flora is vertical scroll, which isn't my personal cup of tea, but this comic's too good not to recommend. It's got a super fun, water-color-y style, strong character designs, beautiful use of color, and a deep, creepy mystery. Also the lighting is gorgeous in every single panel. Idk how he does it. I'm really excited to see what's in store for this one.

Long Gone Legends by Hal

A webcomic about growing pains, fear, and connection.

Another really pretty one. This one's a sort-of-slice of life that's setting up to shift into campgrounds folk horror, and I really like its vibes. Lots of great character designs, a lovely, blend-y style, and intriguing art. Also, if you read it on its neocities, it's got music! I say this as a recommendation, but also because it auto-played and scared the shit out of me, so be warned.

The Lamb With Pointed Teeth by SynthenTheMystic

A peculiar lamb leaves their home on a farm to live off in the woods.

I feel like I'm just repeating myself at this point saying, "cool concept", "great art style", "still early into its run but i'm still really curious", but once again, it's true. This has a sort of fairy-tale folk story style to it, and already my heart aches for this little sheep. The dialogue is really good, and the rules of the world are interesting. Always curious when talking animals try to eat each other.

Reviviscence by quailcrossing

On the edge of the coast lives a little family of three. To a passerby, they are nothing special. To each other, they are everything. For many years, they'd tackle the world together, until something they thought they understood turned on its head. Now, a valuable family member is missing, and another has torn through everything to find him. Although so much has changed, that doesn't matter. They don't need everything back to how it was before. Their daughter needs her family home safe, after all, and that's it.

Lovely world with super unique character designs, a really interesting concept of the afterlife, clever dialogue, and gorgeous, gorgeous art. This is one of the first comics I found when I joined comicfury, and it's only gotten more beautiful over time. Turns out Tumblr has an image limit of 30 images per post (BOOO) so you'll just have to take my word for it. Seriously, go check out Reviviscence. You won't regret it.
