There is no world in which that is appropriate, on any level. (no one can be *referred* to MAID, it is something a patient has to specifically go and ask their doctor about so what the fuck this person was even thinking is beyond me. It was grossly out of line, and speaks to a broader problem with lack of empathy for the lives and dignity of the disabled clients they are supposed to serve)

When she wrote to the Prime Minister to complain, it triggered an investigation and it turns out this employee suggested MAID to at least five other disabled veterans. They are suspended and the investigation is ongoing.

But in reading these articles I have to wonder…

Closet-reactionary liberal college student I met last year: Of course I love and respect the queer and trans community! However, one can argue that the early gay community's... casual attitude toward sex was a disastrous political and social mist--

BLM beat 2 men within an inch of their lives just because one man was carrying the flag nearby a "Firey but peaceful protest". The second man only said "Hey, stop that" and was attacked too.

I mean I hate that Disney has this benefit but the argument isn’t wrong.

However, the same cannot be said for the tax exemption. It was only there to keep Disney in Florida, where it would bring tourists and revenue.

Now the lavish luxury of Disneyland (or Disney world, can't remember) can't be afforded by regular people anymore, and as all the other parks must suffer under the lockdowns of past years and inflation, Florida seeks to remove the special privileges of Disney, even if they call it something else.

As an example: I’m a landlord. It’s within my rights to charge interest on late rent payments. I don’t, because I prefer the goodwill and I’m able to be flexible.

If I were to start doing that, that’s legal.
