its my turn to host the monthly dinner party with my friends, and hot damn our bbq plans are looking good:

having a bunch of people over also gives me the appropriate motivation to do stuff around the house: gotta mow the yard, set up the balcony furniture (including first *repainting* the railings which I've prepped but haven't painted yet), clean the house itself, buy charcoal and groceries, and run a handful of errands all around town... given that i have only 48 hours, the mental list feels a bit daunting. and somewhere in there I have a doctors appointment and a family dinner and, y'know, work.

(it'll all be fine and my friends wouldn't ever judge the state of my home, it's just me being neurotic. and for my persistent low level stress about getting things ready i do always look forward to this, and am really excited that its my turn to host again!)

What is the appropriate temperature for a SecUnit bath?

Can they up their body temperature until they become sous vide sticks?

Yeah like I need you guys to understand that this is just how it works. Tho even the pool is shifting towards C. C is slowly winning temperature; and kg is slooooowly winning weight for even light things that are not your personal weight.

There is an additional confusion which is that if someone is older than 50 then they MAY measure even temperature outside as F. This will be deeply annoying.

Hobbes and Stitch, meanwhile, are calmly playing checkers and drinking non-alcoholic margaritas.

Just want to note that emergency weather radio is no longer available in Canada (outside of marine forecasts) as of March 2026. This service was discontinued despite a lot of pushback from rural and remote communities.

There is now one less way to get weather information in Canada. Environment and Climate Change Canada is ending its long-running Weatheradio

#i have personally relied on weather radio #during power outages and when working in remote areas where internet and cell service do not exist #and really feel this loss #(and wrote to my MP about it when it was first announced in… 2020?)#anyway i also agree with the original post #about hating having emergency and up to date information locked away on private platforms that require an account #so feel it’s important to note that NOAA service is not universal across north america #in case someone got their hopes up #canada #weather
