I wonder if it'd be too much unnecessary effort to learn how to make custom cursors via command line? I want to edit the cursor I've been using for like 15 years, but the software I used to make it is long dead and the only alternative I can find is non-FOSS freeware that I don't trust... hmm.

I mean. I know that a .cur file is just a .ico file with some extra stuff in the header, and wikipedia says a .ani file is just a .riff file containing a bunch of .cur frames. How hard could it possibly be to just learn how to identify what specific bits make a .cur or .ani file different from a basic .bmp via the file specification and learn how to manually insert the different bits via hex editing????

I don't want to reinvent the wheel for no reason I guess but... I just don't want to run strange software on my pc but I also don't want to give up on my cursor dreams okay????
