It’s ALSO worth saying that police dogs serve a significant role in worsening police brutality. A dog trained to attack a human will maim them. A cop looses a police dog on someone, and that person is expected to peacefully cooperate while a dog is trying to tear their limbs off. It is very easy for those massive wounds to get infected. It is an absurd amount of violence. And beyond the initial attack, the fact that a “poor sweet innocent doggo” did this is used to excuse that brutality in court. Especially if the victim, panicking in the moment, lashed out at the dog. As this website has demonstrated many times, majority-white juries have more sympathies for injured dogs than the people of color who are most often victims of police brutality. So they’re not just systemic animal abuse, they’re also a tool for increased police brutality and to excuse

if you're like even a little bit sincere in your belief in restorative justice you'll keep seeing it forever. "X did Y to Z" isn't important because Z was harmed, what's important is that X is a bad person for doing Y. we can keep bringing up that X did Y forever YEARS after the fact, no matter how the situation has been handled privately between X and Z, because what happened to Z isn't important. What's important is that X doing Y makes X a terrible person forever. You see this a lot in the CD-Call harassment campaign.

I can never take those "maid and princess" kink scenarios as intended because every time I see one I get a vivid mental image of a scenario where owing to a series of bizarre miscommunications each is convinced they're the one taking sexual advantage of the other.

also no one says it but the punchline of "trans inclusive misogyny" is almost always the implicit assumption that transfeminine people do not actually experience misogyny in our day-to-day life. thats why its considered humorous and acceptable to do, rather than just being. misogyny against women.

I'd even go a step further and suggest that the punchline isn't just the implicit assumption that we don't experience misogyny in our daily lives, but that we don't experience misogyny in our daily lives because we "aren't women" and it's funny to pretend that we are by being bigoted towards us.

I think people forget that the original "trans inclusive radical misogynist" joke about Steven Moffat was predicated on the fact that he is, famously, a horrible misogynist. Like, the funny/ironic/surprising thing was that someone with such backwards, regressive, misogynistic views would say something that appeared at least tacitly supportive of trans women being, y'know, women. It was not redemptive, it was not "hey i guess he's okay, since he's trans inclusive, that excuses his misogyny!", it was just a broken clock being right twice a day, and the play on words that resulted from it. There is no "good" way to be a misogynist.
