Oh, um... I have no idea?

Probably the moment when Doll became comfortable enough to stay in the same room with V for over an hour. To be honest, I never even thought that the hat might be a problem for her.

Sin maimed V, V maimed Doll, and Doll did everything she could to maim those around her. (True, she didn’t maim anyone in particular, but she did kill a bunch of worker drones, leaving a bunch of mothers and fathers without their children, and that’s not all. She also actively tried to hinder Uzi and the others, putting them in mortal danger.)

And in both cases, you can’t say that the responsibility lies solely with them, or solely with Solver. Anyway, it’s clear that the whole story was a total mess.

And the only way to atone is to break free from this cycle of samsara.

What has happened cannot be changed, forgotten, or undone. It will remain forever. But continuing this war simply means slowly heading toward complete self-destruction.

In this regard, I love voll post-canon. V is the one who managed to put an end to all of this and join the light side, but now that she’s allowed herself to be a person again—rather than a soulless killing machine—the conscience she’d suppressed for so long has resurfaced. She saved herself, but she hasn’t atoned.

And the ideal form of atonement for her is to help someone who couldn’t do that and was left behind. And who better than Doll to fill that role? Because Doll is the living embodiment of all of V’s mistakes.

But Doll herself must also be ready to take a step toward reconciliation if she wants to climb out of the depths to which she has fallen.

Hi, I’ve drawn some stuff again that doesn’t follow the characters’ canonical personalities and all that.

Okay, seriously though, I do have plans for this comic. Yeah, it’s not as ambitious as it could be, but I’d never be able to pull off something that ambitious anyway. But something around 3–4 parts is possible. Actually, that’s exactly how many I plan to release. (Let’s hope I DON’T abandon the whole thing after the first or second part.)

And by the way, I think it’s important to mention that by the time the comic starts, V and Doll have already “come a long way” and aren’t trying to rip each other’s heads off at the first opportunity anymore. Yeah, yeah, I know you’d like to see that journey first. There’s a lot I’d like to do, too. But as I’ve already mentioned, I definitely don’t have what it takes for a big, long story, no matter how much I’d like to tell it. I’m ready for something small at most.

Oh, and here's the translation of Doll's lines starting from the point where the translation stopped appearing (Yeah, I did that on purpose) :

Doll: "She seems okay… "(…Since when did that start mattering to me?)

V: "Doll?"

Doll: "Are you seriously empty-headed or something? Why the hell did you even climb onto that? It was obvious the whole thing was ready to collapse at any second! You're acting worse than a damn child."

V: "Doll… Wait a second."

V: "Say something."

Doll: "Uhh… something?"

V: "Oh, crap… I can't understand…"

Doll: "Can't understand what?"

V: "There it is again! I can't understand what you're saying. My translator… it's throwing an error."

Doll: "…"

Doll is very observant of everything related to V. She knows almost all of her habits and can easily read her mood. Even if V looks calm on the outside, Doll still notices when she extends her claws when she senses anxiety or danger, or when she completely relaxes her tail, letting it trail across the floor, in moments when she’s at ease.

+ Doll is great at remembering everything V tells her. Sometimes even V herself forgets that she told Doll something, and so she’s surprised that Doll remembers. (She finds it flattering, but shhh…)

In fact, all of this began back when Doll first started following V to gather information so she could devise a murder plan. That’s actually when her keen attention to detail was being honed.

As for V, on the contrary, she had a really hard time figuring out what Doll’s mood was at the moment. And it was all because of that Slavic poker face of hers. For a while, V even joked (not very funny) that Doll had forgotten to set her emotions; otherwise, why would she always have that dissatisfied look on her face? And Doll hardly ever gestures; her hands either just hang limply at her sides or are crossed over her chest. At most, she’ll nod or tilt her head slightly.

But after a while, V began to notice that Doll’s face is actually quite expressive, even if her facial expressions aren’t that pronounced.

Hmm... Ummm.... HMMMM... 🧐

Good question.

Okey yeah, I think Uzi would be the one to advocate for putting an end to the killings. (Not that V and Doll always listen to her, of course.)

But yeah, there doesn’t really seem to be any point in beating up the worker drones anymore. But no one’s stopping them from beating each other up.

They go somewhere far away from the bunker so no one will bother them, and they have their fights there. Not to the death, of course (though V is not always so sure). They like to test each other’s limits. And then, when they’re both tired enough, they lie in the snow, covered in mud and oil, and gaze at the stars.

Isn’t that a peak date?

Actually, coming up with activities for Doll and V ESPECIALLY after the finale is really a challenge.

Because the only hobby of theirs that we know about is killing. Well, Doll also has revenge, but since this is voll, that’s out of the question.

But okay, I’ll take a wild guess and say that it seems to me that both Doll and V are very well-read. V read a lot at the mansion even before the events with Cyn. And Doll simply inherited a large library from her mother.

And sometimes they argue about the meaning of certain classic books.

About that moment when Doll decides to kill V, but it’s clear she can’t do it without preparation. She enlists Lizzy’s help, and together they head out on a mission to the spire. Sure, Doll may be cruel, but she still cares about Lizzy, so she’s not willing to let her go alone to lure the killer into her trap.

In the end, they somehow manage to win V over. And then the three of them spend time together.

Doll tries to stay on the sidelines, simply observing and looking for the enemy’s weaknesses.

V, on the other hand, doesn’t take any of this seriously and thinks she’ll kill these stupid workers as soon as she gets tired of playing with them. But even so, Doll piques her interest. Compared to the constantly chattering Lizzy, she seems much more clever than her peers. That’s why V sometimes allows herself to flirt with her, and she finds it very amusing to watch Doll flinch or push her away every time.

Meanwhile, Doll is torn by conflicting emotions, because she definitely shouldn’t like all this flirting, but still, something inside her flutters every time.

Outside of a pure AU, I think it would definitely be in the headcanons that Uzi can bring Doll back from the Solver's depths and that Doll was aware of everything Uzi was doing during that time.

Doll doesn't forgive V for killing her parents— It's not really something you CAN just forgive. It's not something you can forget. But Doll got a front row seat to them facing the real Cyn, and probably saw more than enough of V's and N's nightmares and flashbacks to know that what they went through wasn't just because they really wanted to be sent to Copper-9 to track down and kill every potential Solver Drone by wiping off all the Worker Drones.

And it's DEFINITELY a slow burn after Doll is revived. Probably spanning years before they actually date. They've both got issues and are both kinda competitive and both would want to be friends with Lizzy AND Uzi. (V because those ARE her friends and Doll because Uzi's the only one "above her level" and Lizzy was her "friend" first) And they'd definitely have fights over how they treat the others.

Once V is firmly in charge of scavenging groups with few to no casualties while she's around, and Doll is forced into therapy, they start to actually get along... Begrudgingly.

But in an AU: the first one that comes to mind is Yeva using the Solver and scaring off V— hearing a Murder Drone hiss that she's not messing with "Cyn in a new host" before fleeing is... Concerning as all hell. Luka and Yeva survive, Doll doesn't witness anything but a Murder Drone actually Talking. They probably don't meet again until after Uzi's meeting and confrontation with N.

I don't think in this AU Doll would have her Solver for a while after this, so no hoard of dead bodies in their house. But Yeva would definitely step up to help Uzi and them, but focusing on Doll meeting up with V, they'd probably just genuinely become her friends. Like sure, V's dangerous, and they can tell she's just preparing to use them to get inside the bunker, but she's not unpleasant to be around.
