also the fact that the secret room is so messy confirms one of my other headcanons. she's fucking TIRED of cleaning. she was a maid for YEARS AND YEARS at that goddamn manor and gods know she don't have enough energy to clean after she spends that much energy running around and being an idiot. that's her safe room!! that's where she goes to not be stressed!! she cleans when stressed because its what she needs to keep up appearances to others!! to prove she's helpful!! but when she knows that a space is only hers and nobody else will see, she can just. leave it like that! because there's no one to judge her for not being productive for once!! she leaves it messy because then she can feel like she's not playing a stupid role anymore!!

it also validates another headcanon that she may have a minor hoarding problem. i feel like all the DDs would because they never had anything that was truly "theirs" in their lives. at the manor and as DDs, they simply weren't allowed to, really. so when they get the chance to have things they hoard them because who knows when things might get taken away again? J got an early head start on that with the secret room, and although it mostly looks like junk, I'm sure there's a whole lot of stuff in those boxes she has a strange amount of attachment to, not because the items themselves are important to her, but just because they're HER things. you know?
