“Quilting” or “stitching” is a powerful #violinpractice🎻 #practiceroom #practiceroutine I use when passages seem intimidating at first glance. The concept is simple…start with small groups and stitch them together into larger and larger groups until the entire passage is easy. This trains me to begin the string crossings earlier so I will arrive on the new string with less impact thereby making the passage smooth and even.
