why are people acting like taylor and travis don’t have a right to privacy at their OWN wedding make it make sense
I am personally curious as to why fans of Taylor Swift are suddenly citing privacy as being necessary, when they were previously claiming that Taylor Swift now feels "free" and "open" after supposedly being "stifled" by her previous boyfriend.
So, I'm highly suspicious of her actually getting married at MSG this weekend. Like, that seems so far from anything she would do. She values her privacy more than anything, and would definitely not want it being literally in that building, where anyone could possibly break into and get targeted by paparazzi. I feel like Tree made up the source info, and some other event is actually happening there that has nothing to do with Taylor. I honestly hope she is able to have the privacy and all the happiness that she deserves on her special day. Definitely a distraction for them to actually get married somewhere else.
Hold on. Taylor Swift values privacy? If that be the case, why has a segment of Taylor Swift's fans subjected Joe Alwyn to sanctimonious, mendacious, and repulsive insults, for the supposed crime of... valuing privacy?
despite the theatrics designed to make me feel otherwise, i almost feel sorta sorry for taylor. obviously her standards have eroded tremendously if she’s willing to settle for someone as insipid and oafish as travis.
the manufactured spectacle of even a major life milestone like a wedding shows a clear desperation for attention. imagine being such a sellout that fans think you are putting easter eggs in your own wedding for their consumption.
and imagine them being so in denial about who you are as a person that they’re refusing to believe the actual details you’ve purposely leaked to the press about it. the need for a personal secret service with her everywhere she goes also reads as deeply misanthropic and paranoid. (don’t know why her and hers fans act like she’s the pope or something!)
it’s a bit tragic. hard to imagine it all as something she would’ve wanted for herself as a little girl.
then again wedding to a football player in a castle built within msg on july fourth does sound exactly like something a little girl would come up with.
Very true!
Well, there's the wedding.
And then there's the marriage part. Anyone can get married. Many fail to stay married. I imagine that Miss Swift will be determined to prove that her marriage to a man with whom she has virtually nothing in common will be a success. But the fact that this relationship has yet to outlast her previous long-term relationship shows that such confidence from her and her fans is highly premature.
We don’t hate the French revolution enough. We think we do, but we don’t.
I am a British Francophile, and I despise the French Revolution. I am proud that great Englishmen like Edmund Burke stood against the fall into lunacy and state terror in France, which included crimes like this.

Ripple Effect - Antonia Tyz Peeples

Worthy of Aivazovsky's brush!
AI doesn't lie to you, no god forbid. It does something worse: it repeats whatever the internet says loudest, and serves it back as fact. It's called knowledge poisoning but it's not limited only to disinformation being categorized as facts, it also contains sentiment. Researchers from Tel Aviv University had GPT-4 write fictional characters with Jewish and non-Jewish names, then deleted every name and label. With nothing left to go on, the model still rated the Jewish-coded profiles as colder, more manipulative, more obsessive, more power-hungry. When asked to match that profile to real characters, it returned Walter White and Hannibal Lecter. When asked which real group gets stereotyped this way, it answered "Jews," and cited the Protocols of the Elders of Zion. Three different AI models did this independently, after companies spent millions scrubbing out bias. Here's why this should worry everyone, not just Jews: These systems don't learn what's true. They learn what's frequent. A peer-reviewed study, a vandalized Wikipedia page, and a 2014 conspiracy thread on Reddit all look identical to the machine. A lie repeated a million times beats a fact stated once. A 1000-year-old bigotry just resurfaced from the digital sludge, and the same system is now screening job applicants, supporting medical calls, and teaching kids.

Should be a reminder for us all to spend less time online, and stop placing blind faith in technology.
They Don't Love Humanity, They Hate it
All these assholes who riot and harass people in the name of climate change, Palestine, social justice, or whatever else is fashionable right now aren’t doing it out of love for humanity. They’re doing it out of hate for humanity.
This is what everyone must understand: radical movements today are driven by misanthropy, narcissism and nihilism.
They’re not so desperate to help other people that they are driven to reluctant violence. This is a mere excuse, and a feeble one at that.
The fodder of these movements are miserable losers who feel that humanity hasn’t given them all the toys they deserve. For them, there is no joy in civilization. The leaders are power-hungry cynics who wish to command these armies of morons to gain power.
They’re using these issues, which they don’t understand and barely care about, as an excuse to harass people, to bully people, to destroy beautiful things which they cannot possess.
Notice how no matter what their goal is, somehow it always include vandalism and the destruction of art and statues.
They are people who hate humanity.
The suffering they cause is not a byproduct of their noble goals. Causing suffering is their goal. They are pure bullies.
Let’s import the entire third world to the West, let’s make sure people in Europe die from heat because they don’t have air conditioning, let’s make sure universities don’t teach because there is a war 10,000 kilometers away, let’s burn the country to defend criminals who abuse the innocent, let’s convince people to become extinct and be replaced by bronze age barbarians… that is not justice. That is not compassion. That is not virtue.
It’s not even virtue signaling.
It is their way to take revenge upon humanity, to make everyone else as miserable as they are.
So don’t forget: these people are not misguided, they are not desperate, they are not noble.
They are evil.

Brilliant commentary. It absolutely sums up what I and many others feel about the swivel-eyed gangsters posing as mankind's saviours.
The world is full of obvious things which nobody by any chance ever observes.
The Hound of the Baskervilles-Arthur Conan Doyle
So many great quotes from the Sherlock Holmes books.
in a way john watson is a fantasy (what if you had this brilliant enigmatic friend and what if he liked you in particular and what if he offered you the excitement of youth and adventures and a way out of boring society life and all without having to actually give up your status as a gentleman so you could have the best of both worlds) and in a way sherlock holmes is a fantasy (what if someone never got tired of you despite your various strange habits and mood swings and instead of simply tolerating you they genuinely liked you and what if you didn’t have to live alone forever and what if you never had to give up doing the things you love) and of course there’s the most fantastical part of it all (what if you could afford london housing prices)
This is a very good point. I even recall Dr. John Watson saying that his medical practice was 'never very absorbing', and I often wonder whether that was less Dr. Watson speaking and more Dr. Conan Doyle speaking.

Remember that the people persecuting the likes of Mr. Adler are the very people who whinge 24/7 about cultural erasure and treat whatever identity is currently fashionable as a sacred cloak that can never be questioned. It's time to recognise that those enmeshed with the anti-Israel cause don't have any real values; they simply name-drop alleged virtues in order to make themselves sound credible. In real life, they do not practice what they preach, because in the mind of any sane person, attacking a Jewish musician and trying to erase his cultural heritage is a clear sign of racial bigotry-- the very thing so many alleged "progressives" love to pontificate about. It's time more normal people started tuning out anti-Israel and "progressive" talking points about social justice. Look at how the disciples of these movements actually behave, not what they claim.
The music of Arcangelo Corelli is so refreshing, sedate, and elegant. Here are three of his church sonatas from Opus number 3.

A succinct post that demonstrates why Israel was forced to fight a war on sveen fronts after Hamas and its Arab sponsors and collaborators invaded Israel on October 7.
I really love the sound of Tame Impala, and it never fails to impress me that he's responsible for most every part of his records!
The battle for our political sanity is a battle for truth about Israel. Americans must recognize that the Jews did not bring this distraction. The Muslim Brotherhood and its allies are hard at work to undermine the West.

It is astonishing how many times media companies and other organisations will cite supposedly dire circumstances the Arabs face without mentioning the cause: the unprecedented and despicable Arab invasion of Israel on October 7, 2023.
Do you think The New York Times would ever run a story complaining that Russians were facing increased utility bills, inflation, and missile strikes, without making it clear from the start that these are the direct consequences of Russia's decision to invade Ukraine? Has The New York Times attacked the current restrictions and bans on Russian immigration implemented by the European Union in response to Russia's invasion, for example?
Evidently many people in the West don't know or do not want to know that well over half of the Arab invaders on October 7 were civilians. The reason that Hamas had untrammeled access to kibbutzes on that day was due to Arab civilians with work permits that had steadily collected information on the Israeli families employing them and passed that information onto the terrorist group. This was a betrayal as calculated as it is utterly sickening. This is why Israel has drastically restricted Arabs from Areas A and B of the West Bank, as well as from Gaza, from obtaining work permits, while maintaining reliance upon foreign workers from India, Nepal, and Thailand.
Actions have consequences. Notice how apologists for Arab terror and crimes against humanity have falsely claimed that October 7 was a 'consequence' of Israeli actions, yet now cry foul when the Arabs face consequences for that terrorist attack. But this is their own logic, isn't it? Abide by it.

"In our life there is a single color... which provides the meaning of life and art. It is the color of love."
Marc Chagall
I have always liked Marc Chagall's works.
June 28, 1943 — As Nazis had been murdering Jews on an industrial scale for two years & operating gas chambers for over a year — with millions already dead — Britain’s Home Secretary Herbert Morrison blocked the remaining life-saving immigration certificates to Mandate Palestine.
His claimed reason? The Allies must not “negotiate with the Nazis.” Ok — let’s consider the context.
By then, the Final Solution was in full operation. Yet Britain had slammed the gates shut years earlier. The 1939 White Paper gutted the legally-binding Mandate for Palestine, capping Jewish immigration to a tiny quota and requiring Arab consent for anything more (which was never coming).
And the British enforced the White Paper viciously and sometimes violently.
The Royal Navy actively intercepted refugee ships, fired on some, arrested survivors, and interned them in Cyprus or Mauritius — or turned them back toward certain death in Nazi-occupied Europe.
The Struma tragedy was the direct result: nearly 800 Jews fleeing Romania were refused entry, towed out to sea, and sunk in the Mediterranean — with only one survivor (see image).
Britain was a supposed ally fighting Hitler. And in doing so, they most certainly were an ally of all humanity.
Also true: as of the 1939 White Paper, Britain became an active obstacle to Jewish survival — prioritizing Arab relations and oil interests as another appeasement of aggression after Munich.
Jews were trapped between the Nazi murder machine and a British blockade on the one place ready and legally obligated to take them in.
When Jews had no state of their own, even their supposed allies treated their survival as a diplomatic inconvenience to be managed.
@CptAllenHistory
A horrific, but necessary piece of history. I am proud of being British and of our role in defeating Adolf Hitler. I am also proud of our government's approval in 1917 of restoring sovereignty in Mandatory Palestine to the Jews. So the fact that Britain betrayed its promise and later slammed the door shut in the face of desperate Jews fleeing the Final Solution, which the British knew about, is galling, although I knew some of this already. All I can say is that, in light of Britain's chequered past, our nation has no justification for hostility towards Israel, including appeasement of Arabs that desire Israel's destruction. This is a lesson Britain repeats when it comes to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Why does the illegal and morally bankrupt Arab assault upon Israel not produce immediate and unqualified denunciation of the Arabs? The historical facts above present a sobering answer.
