I love this!

Marvellous piece from George Elgar Hicks.
The libels against Israel are all falling apart.
Melanie Phillips reports on how so many popular, yet mendacious, accusations against Israel have collapsed.
Including:
1- Net population growth in Gaza of around 50 000, and over 600 000 polio vaccine shots administered by Israel, because Hamas, despite having a so-called "health" ministry, didn't see fit to take care of Arab citizens.
2- Lower child malnutrition in Gaza than in Jordan and Egypt (!!)-- so the UN adviser that claimed that tens of thousands of children could die in 48 hours was talking utter rubbish. This never happened, by the way. Nor did the shapeshifting threats of famine.
3- Numerous Arab "journalists" in Gaza quietly removed from international databases as evidence showed they were terrorists from Hamas and from Islamic Jihad. The terrorist organisations have publicly identified their own members, but of course, international organisations so desperately wanted to accuse Israel of murder.
Little by little, the waters of truth are seeping into a desert of make-believe, bigotry, and hysteria.
We were right, and they were wrong. In fact, many of them weren't just wrong: they blatantly lied. So if you faced a torrent of abuse from anti-Israel mouthpieces, congratulate yourself for standing firm. Their hysteria only reflected their insecurity and, we now know, a total absence of facts as they stupidly believed slanted, distorted, and mendacious claims from a terrorist organisation. Then they tried concealing their stupidity by pretending the terrorists weren't terrorists. Well, they have a lot of egg on their faces now.

The anti-Israel crowd call themselves pro-Palestine, but they aren't really. They don't ever talk about any other issues affecting Palestinians.
Hamas's human rights abuses and authoritarianism.
The PA's corruption and embezzlement.
Iran's missile attacks and airstrikes.
Egypt and Jordan's refusal to house refugees.
The only issues affecting Palestinians people talk about are the ones involving Israel. There is total silence surrounding the oppression of Palestinians by Hamas.
I'll say it again with my whole chest.
The only non-Palestinians who actually give a shit about Palestinian lives, are all Zionists.
Yes that's right.
I can confirm what @freegazafromhamas has said, since my comments supporting Israel include denunciations of Hamas for executing Arab prisoners, for using those executions to terrorise Arab civilians, and for embezzlement, blackmail, and authoritarian rule.
The anti-Israel side, which claims its denunciation of the Jewish State is the apotheosis of moral conscience, proves its fraudulence when it refuses to raise even a single protest against Hamas' Islamic dictatorship. These people claim that their opposition to a peaceful Jewish nation is commensurate with opposing racism, opposing sexism, opposing imperialism, and everything else, yet frequently pass by in silence, downplay, or dismiss Hamas' flagrant violations of human rights.
An organisation that has citizens arrested for publishing comments online that it opposes cannot, by definition, be classed as "freedom fighters". All the more so when Hamas is backed by the Islamic Republic of Iran, which sank into greater infamy in January by slaughtering over 30 000 of its own people for demanding political accountability and basic freedoms.
Yet apologists for the Arab cause against Israel repeatedly make a mockery of the English language and of basic morality by classing murderous tyrants from Hamas in the same league as genuine freedom fighters like American Civil Rights activists.
Aside from the obvious anti-Israel prejudice which has descended like a cloud over the eyes of those within this group, we must also address their clear bigotry of low expectations. The anti-Israel movement has created a fetish out of treating Arabs in particular as people that cannot be held accountable for their own actions, no matter how cruel and despicable those actions are. The anti-Israel movement has created a fictitious racial hierarchy (so much for all those lectures about using anti-Israel activism to oppose racism), where somebody with brown skin (or said to have brown skin) must be seen as the inherent victim of somebody with white skin (or said to have white skin).
This bigotry of low expectations allows the anti-Israel movement to rationalise or dismiss evidence of Hamas' terror against Arabs; on the rare times they do address these crimes, they explain them away as being the consequence of Israel's policies. Yet they never explain how Israel, a liberal democracy with a superior standard of civil rights to most Arab nations, could possibly drive Hamas to implementing an Islamic dictatorship in Gaza. They ignore Hamas' Charter and its blatant incompatibility with Western freedom and Western civilisation. All these inconvenient facts are hidden under a rug of 'Oh those poor brown folks being oppressed by Israel'.
The consequences of this fetish for victimhood and infantilising the Arabs are stark and ironic: those Arabs genuinely suffering from Hamas get no attention from the Western "saviours". Hamas celebrated the latest ceasefire in Gaza by dragging Arab prisoners into the streets and shooting them dead. Total silence from the anti-Israel movement, even though these people have pontificated night and day about Arabs in Israeli prisons and how the conditions are supposedly terrible. The Arabs in Israeli prisons are usually terrorists, murderers, arsonists, and affiliated criminals. Meanwhile, Hamas' rule gives the Arabs no presumption of innocence; Hamas' definitions of crime include actions that are not crimes in Western nations (such as criticising the government); Hamas approves torture; Hamas carries out extrajudicial executions; Hamas uses public murder as entertainment and a tool of state terror.
Yet for the Western "saviours", those Arabs are just collateral damage to be ignored, because they get in the way of the "great cause", which is opposing Israel's existence. If they have to side with a fascist, religiously extremist terror group in order to help their crusade, then so be it. Never mind about the Arabs that will suffer because of Hamas' rule. It's not important. All time should be spent on excoriating the Jews, of course.
A word to the few remaining wise people that are immune to anti-Israel drivel: the bigotry of low expectations kills. Hold Hamas, the PLO, Islamic Jihad (which justified killing Arabs with rockets that fail to reach Israel), and other terrorists accountable for their human rights abuses. They are not "freedom fighters": they are criminals.

Many thanks! Filing this one for reference!
i just feel strongly that work shouldnt be the Main Activity of five days out of the week
A talking point designed to please, but how does this work in reality? Because it won't work with doctors, nurses, police, firemen, the military-- all professions where work is the main activity for more than five days in a week. We have shops open seven days a week, simply due to the lifestyle choices of consumers. The times of shops being closed on a Sunday are long gone.
I strongly suspect that this talking point only applies to a job that isn't indispensable to the economy, and it has to be a job that the employee dislikes. No doubt many people do dislike their work, and many people do feel overworked, but selling people a fantasy isn't the solution.

Hamas launched a brutal crackdown to prevent protests calling for an end to the terror group’s rule across the Gaza Strip on Friday.
Hamas does, however, represent the Western left.
Once again, Hamas demonstrates a total lack of concern for the wellbeing of the Arabs in Gaza. Once again, Hamas demands total submission and punishes freedom with violence, murder, and terror. And, once again, those who made a whole song and dance about their alleged concern for the war in Gaza (omitting the clear fact that the Arabs started it), will not raise up a single protest against the terrorist group.
Remember this next time the usual crowd of anti-Israel windbags try smothering you with their fictitious moral superiority talking points. These people do not believe a word that they say; their morality is theatrical and fraudulent. Don't engage with their attempt at guilt-tripping. We are not the ones that support mass murderers: they are.
