I think it is more that some *people* are only fit to write/read light-hearted romantic comedies. I am actually not good at that kind of genre and I don’t enjoy it in large doses. I look for gems, like you, who push boundaries and their characters!

Awww, thanks! *smiles all big and hugs you A LOT* And I guess we're a good match, because I am also not so much for romantic comedies. 

I think that was part of the problem back in the day, a mismatch between me and the people I knew at the time in the community. I couldn't quite get their stories about domesticity and romance, because that's not my scene. And I guess on their end they couldn't quite get my high tragic drama, lol.

The things you can do with this game are endless! I always say that if you have imagination you will always enjoy this game :)

I would agree! I do understand though why some people might think that the game is getting more constricting over time, with EA focusing more and more on setting goals and objectives and making little quests in the game. But I also think that you can use that to your advantage and turn it into fuel for a story too if you are determined enough. :)

*hugs* And oh gosh - I do like the cold, but I don't know if I could make it like this for five months. Especially with my job involving so much driving around and taking exterior pictures of houses.

The fact that you can do such a variety of things is why I love my “Hi Mum, It’s Sammy” stories. Some are light, some are dark, a few end very badly. But I have to look for natural ingame pictures, I have no patience for poses.

Same here, with both the variety and the no posing.

Don’t feel bad about it, I once cut my finger when cutting bread - it was a very sharp knife I tell ya! Had three stitches on it, too. It still has the scar after ten years and still is stiffer than other fingers.

Yes, I have done that many times working in food service. I once cut the side of the tip of my finger off! Hope it heals quickly :)

I consider sims an art tool, I can’t draw, i can’t make animations or direct movies, so sims is a perfect way to picture all my stories and characters, kinda ‘bring it to life’.

*hugs* And that's awesome, and you're very good at it! And yeah, that's some of it for me too. I can't draw, but heck if I can't take a picture of the game and edit it! :)

I only started playing sims again after an injury and it became somewhat of a creative outlet since I couldn’t draw anymore. I don’t share everything publicly but if I do it’s just for fun. It’s nice when people like it but if not then oh well…

Oh gosh, I'm sorry about the not being able to draw, but I'm glad Sims helps. And yeah, I get you about the nice when people like it but not caring if they don't. Of course...I only get that now, after much sturm und drang. ;) But hey, I learned!

I write because I love doing it. I’m sad not to have more readers because when i decided to make a blog, the intent was to share. But probably because I have very little feedback, I’ve never felt sharing my story was a burden.

I know, and I wish you had more readers. I think it's just that really the heyday of Sims stories has passed, and there aren't as many readers out there as there used to be. And the ones that are left are harder to find. 

I'm glad you still enjoy it though!

I post things, on simblr, and my personal blog as well, so that I can have it as a memory tank to go back and look at whenever I want, and be like “cool look what I did or made or wrote!” But I also like the feeling of doing stuff “together” online.

Awesome answer! I know that feel - I like to go back and look at my old stuff too and see how far I've come. And I like being together with you guys too!

That is an excellent question. Something this space doesn’t really give possibility to answer as it should be, though. It is a complex thing.

I like complexity. ;) It's something I've definitely been observing on the WoW forum, with the different mindsets and different approaches to the game, and I was just wondering how it worked in the Sims community.

One similarity - I know that back in the day some people thought I was silly for putting so much effort into my Sims stories when there aren't really any external rewards for them. I thought they were silly for caring so much about external rewards. ;)

I build when I want to turn my brain off. I play through families when I’m curious to know how things turn out, and I play the legacy to finish the legacy and watch Aranel do ridiculous things. :)

*hugs* Yeah, when I go on my binges and play Sims for hours and hours for days, it's generally because I want to see the next generation and I want to see them grow up and I want to see how the genetics play out.
