Joker: "Whatcha doin' over there, doll? Talkin' to the voices in your head?"

Carly: "No... just saying my bedtime prayers."

Joker: "Prayers... You prayin' for your old devil, too? Huh?"

Carly: "Of course I am."

Joker: "...You really think your God gives a single fuck about a man like me?"

Carly: "He gives a fuck about everyone. Yes."

Joker: "Yeah. I'm sure he's real interested in my sins."

Carly: "I don't think God is stupid. I think he makes all kinds of people. Good guys, bad guys... He makes 'em all with a purpose."

Joker: "You think God made me this way, huh?"

Carly: "Yes. I think he did."

Carly: "You went to see Dr. Cinfael without me, didn't you?"

Joker: "And how'd you crack that case, Detective Trevino?"

Carly: "Easy. That bruise on your arm is from an IV. And you keep scratchin' at it like it personally offended you."

Joker: "Mmm. Feels like I'm datin' the whole damn police department."

Carly: "Dating... I like the sound of that."

Joker: "You're unbearable. C'mon, let's go to bed, princess. Daddy's fuckin' tired, alright?"

Carly: "My godfather found a house... that apparently belonged to Mr. J's parents."

Noelle: "He just... found it? Like, on Zillow?"

Carly: "I asked him to dig up anything he could. The place is abandoned, but Uncle Julian says it's not completely trashed by squatters. He bought it. But he asked me not to tell Mr. J anything yet."

Noelle: "Damn, girl. Remind me never to get on your bad side. You got a whole senator in your back pocket."

Carly: "Uncle Julian's right. Mr. J has too much on his plate right now. I just wanna take a peek... but I can't ask his boys for help. They'll rat me out in a heartbeat 'cause it's important. And you're his best friend's wife. I can't trust anyone else with it. Pretty, please?"

Noelle: "Girl, if this shit goes sideways, we are so fucked. Lorenzo will kill me."

Carly: "I'll swear you knew nothing. I'll say you thought it was just some random abandoned house. I'll take all the blame."

Noelle: "You are a special kind of crazy, you know that? Alright, fine. Let's go take a look. What you even hopin' to find in that dusty ass place?"

Carly: "I don't know... maybe there's something. A clue. Plus, I gotta see for myself what we're dealing with before I bring him into it, right?"

Noelle: "A'ight, fine. I'll tell Enzo we're havin' a girls' night at the lake house."

Joker: "...You know I... I can't. With her. What if she asks? What if she figures out it's not just the... the brain juice and the shocks?"

Frost: "She hasn't so far, has she?"

Joker: "She's a woman, Frosty, damn it... She'll ask. They always do."

Frost: "Then you sell her the brain juice and shocks story. You're a hell of a salesman."

Joker: "I'm not the same man she had her dumb little crush on... That fairytale ain't gettin' any happier."

Frost: "She loves you, man. For real."

Joker: "I'm a dead man walking, Frosty! A ghost. Who the fuck loves a broken-down psychopath?"

Frost: "Apparently, Carly does."

Joker: "I'm a monster!"

Joker: "...They were the guards... the nurse-guards. They'd put you in the jacket after the doctors had their fun... you can't even move in that shit... you're just... a thing."

Frost: "..."

Joker: "...The floor... it smelled like fucking chlorine. Why do I have to remember that? The jokes just keep on comin'... I'd give anything... anything to wipe my own memory clean."

Joker: "...Frosty... what if the rest of it... all the stuff I can't remember... is just more of this crap? What if my whole damn life is just this? What if... what if Harls was actually trying to save me from it?"

Frost: "That bitch never wished you anything but pain. Don't you ever forget it."

Joker: "... it was easier that way..."

Frost: "Don't say that. You deserved a hell of a lot better than her. And you have better now."
