Twos are empathetic, sincere, and warm-hearted. They are friendly, generous, and self-sacrificing, but can also be flattering and people-pleasing. They are well-meaning and driven to be close to others, but can slip into doing things for others in order to be needed. They typically have problems with possessiveness and with acknowledging their own needs.
Twos are considerate and generous. They enliven others with their appreciation and attention, helping people to see positive qualities in themselves that they had not previously recognized. Twos open othersâ hearts because theirs are already so open.
Enneagram 2w3s are sociable and always seeking love and attention. Theyâre always willing to help. You donât even need to ask: they immediately shift into an attentive and helping mode (though this might result in avoiding negative feelings and self-repression).

I know that you so often feel lostâso often feel worthlessâand as though those around you do not really need or cherish your love, but that logic is flawed. You are not a transaction, and othersâ love for you does not come at a price.
You, my little snickerdoodle, so often focus your energies on your friends and partners that you can only somehow see their strengths and not your own, but let me tell you, this kindness does not make you weak. Your supportive nature does not make you simple. And your compassion does not make you so easy to take advantage of.
AlthoughâŚyou are easy to take advantage of. But, that is not your fault. You trust and you give and you try, and it is not a reflection of your nature when people misuse you. It is not a reflection of your nature when others are greedy and abusive.
You, instead, are responsible for your own shineâand shine, you do. Only, not frequently and long-lasting enough because you always find yourself falling back into old habits. Self-care, instead, falls to the wayside, and you begin tending again to your little community.
You over-extend. You find yourself growing tired, and you feel selfish for feeling fatiguedâguilty for not having the energy to carry on the way you have been. You pour from an empty cup. You do not know when you last ate, but you remind your friends to drink some water. You do not have a therapy session booked because you just âcanât find the time,â but you tell your friends to take their medicine. As your ability to cater wavers, you think, âI just have to do this one last act, and then Iâll have earned the time to rest.â But you never rest.
Darling one, you cannot best take care of anyone else if you do not first start taking care of yourself. Rest is productive, and it neednât be earned by acts of selflessness and generosity. Rather, your body must be given time to recharge. You, and that soft way of thinking of yours, must be given time to reset; you must allow yourself this. And if you donât, you are going to crumble. I know that you know this because youâve been falling apart all along.
But I am here to piece you back together again. I am here to show you that the love you give to everyone else can be shared with you, too. And even if I do not last, even if I cannot uphold this forever, please know that your capacity to love resides within you; It is not the byproduct of the people you are serving, and when it comes down to it, please remember that you are capable of giving yourself the type of love that you deserve, even if no one else can or does.
With the gentleness and ferocity that is housed within us both,
r.h.
P.S. You donât always have to shoulder everyone elseâs problems, and it is not self-centered to take care of your own needs before you make yourself weary taking care of others.
The hem of its garment.â --Stephen Crane, ââTruthâ, said a travelerâ
Type Two, the Helper:Â âWill it come like a change in the weather?
Will its greeting be courteous or rough?
Will it alter my life altogether?
O tell me the truth about love.â -- W. H. Auden, âTell me the truth about loveâ
Type Three, the Achiever:Â âOh Fame!âif I e'er took delight in thy praises,
'Twas less for the sake of thy high-sounding phrases,
Than to see the bright eyes of the dear one discover,
She thought that I was not unworthy to love her.â --George Gordon Byron, âTo Youthâ
Type Four, the Individualist:Â âThe lamp said,
âFour o'clock,
Here is the number on the door.
Memory!
You have the key,
The little lamp spreads a ring on the stair,
Mount.
The bed is open; the tooth-brush hangs on the wall,
Put your shoes at the door, sleep, prepare for life.â
The last twist of the knife.â --T. S. Eliot, âRhapsody on a Windy Nightâ
Type Five, the Investigator:Â ââFaithâ is a fine invention
For Gentlemen who see!
But Microscopes are prudent
In an Emergency!â --Emily Dickenson, ââFaithâ is a fine invention (202)â
Type Six, the Loyalist:Â âFor I have known them all already, known them all:â
Have known the evenings, mornings, afternoons,
I have measured out my life with coffee spoonsâ --T. S. Eliot, âThe Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrockâ
Type Seven, the Enthusiast:Â âAnd the days are not full enough
And the nights are not full enough
And life slips by like a field mouse     Â
Not shaking the grassâ --Ezra Pound, âAnd the days are not full enoughâ
Type Eight, the Challenger:Â âIt matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll.
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.â --William Ernest Henley, âInvictusâ
Type Nine, the Peacemaker:Â âBefore I built a wall I'd ask to know
What I was walling in or walling out,
And to whom I was like to give offense.
Something there is that doesn't love a wall,
That wants it down.â --Robert Frost, âMending Wallâ
(Note for Fives: I originally wanted to use âDo I dare/Disturb the universe?/In a minute there is time/For decisions and revisions which a minute will reverse,â from Eliotâs Prufrock for you guys, but I already had two other Eliot poems picked out, and I felt like three Eliot quotes would be too much.)
Type 1 â As a crew member, theyâre the first to finish their tasks and will get upset if theyâre interrupted by an emergency meeting. Will avoid voting anyone without reason. As an imposter, they only kill when theyâre 100% certain no one will see them; mainly stay quiet in chat and avoid outright lying, but will point out when others are âacting sus.â Wonât support theories that say their fellow imposter should be voted off and may skip to avoid throwing them under the bus.
Type 2 â As a crew member, they pick someone and follow them around, both for safety in numbers and so they can vouch for them when they see them complete a visual task. They try to make sure everyone has a chance to speak in emergency meetings. As an imposter, they overthink every decision because theyâre afraid theyâll get caught, so they mostly end up sabotaging. They use vents sparingly. Theyâre great with double kills, especially if their fellow imposter takes the initiative. They naturally end up flocking in crowds, so they avoid suspicion there.
Type 3 â As a crew member, theyâre both completing their tasks as quickly as possible and watching everyone to see whoâs sus. When in a meeting, theyâre the first to accuse anyone and will wholeheartedly fight for them to be voted off. Probably wonât say much if they were wrong about it; they just immediately move on to try and find who the imposter actually is. As an imposter, theyâre very quick. They use venting and sabotaging to their advantage and will work while walking. When in a meeting, theyâll pick someone to actively accuse and will avoid any suspicion being put on them by throwing someone else under the bus every time (including fellow imposters, if people seem to be catching on). People usually believe them.
Type 4 â As a crew member, theyâre disappointed that they donât get to be the imposter. They have a balance of watching other people, completing tasks, and running around. They may call an emergency meeting if theyâre being chased or they believe they know who the imposter is, but theyâre not the type to abuse the button. Theyâll share their own opinions during meetings, but donât usually actively accuse others nor demand everyone listen to them. They just want to be sure their thoughts are heard. As an imposter, they may jokingly call people sus, but wonât outright demand someone be voted off. Theyâll just share that theyâre going to vote for someone (with hopes that youâll follow suit.) They enjoy having a unique role, so they may not always fake tasks; they may just run around from room to room, killing people when the mood hits and jumping into the vent to get away. They donât take their fellow imposter into account too much; they wonât throw them under the bus, but they wonât defend them either. Very much of an independent killer.
Type 5 â As a crew member, theyâre pretty quiet, usually connecting the dots right off the bat and trying to find the imposter. They donât speak up immediately, usually waiting until theyâve acquired enough evidence to accuse someone. If theyâre really sure someone is imposter, they will probably call their teammates dumb for not listening to them. They do their tasks as they pass them, but mostly focus on watching the cams and the map. As an imposter, they try to frame people as solidly as possible. Like to turn out the lights often. They rely on vent kills when two people are standing near each other, both completing a task so they canât see the room around them; whichever one didnât die looks sus af. They will point that out during an emergency meeting as well. Wonât try to defend their fellow imposter, but wonât try to accuse them either. If fellow imposter looks suspicious, theyâll play that to their advantage to get eyes off themselves.
Type 6 â As a crew member, they find inconsistencies with peopleâs stories during meetings and point them out. Theyâre highly suspicious of everyone, so they actively look for people to trust rather than the imposter specifically. They look for opportunities to watch someone complete a visual task and immediately let everyone know â[insert color here] is safe.â They also point out when someone wouldâve had the perfect opportunity to kill them, but didnât, âso they must be crew.â Of course, they complete their tasks diligently as well. As an imposter, they try to form a band of people who trust them by using the same aforementioned tactics, letting people know whoâs safe. Being protected by them makes people want to protect them in return, so theyâll be actively defended for most of the game. When itâs down to the last few people, theyâll throw their defenders under the bus and act betrayed, âI donât want to believe it, but it has to be [this color.] That was just way too sus. Dang, I really trusted you.â Their killing method is to off their allies and frame people who suspected them. They use sabotaging to their advantage, but not overly so. They donât vent too often; it doesnât make for good alibies.
Type 7 â As a crew member, they switch between running around aimlessly, actually completing tasks, and just watching other people. If they get bored and no oneâs died yet, they may hit the panic button just to tell the imposters to âmake something happen.â They may have some fun with chat during emergency meetings; calling people sus for no reason, asking how everyoneâs doing, etc. Donât like to actively accuse anyone, but if someone convinces them, theyâll be like âOhhhh tru. Guys, vote [this color.]â 5s and 6s may easily take advantage of the trusting 7. As an imposter, they try to do a good job with framing people, shifting blame, and killing properly, but if the gameâs going too slow or there arenât enough opportunities to kill, then they may pull off some riskier moves. That is, killing someone right in front of someone else, then reporting the body and saying that person did it, or jumping into a big cluster of people (like at cams) and killing one so they know it has to be someone in that cluster, but who? Everyone definitely forgets who was in that group, so suspicion is eventually shaken. They just like interesting games. Regardless of role, they may go to lights and flick off the switches as people try to fix them.
Type 8 â As a crew member, they may occasionally forget to actually do their tasks, instead running around trying to find anyone whoâs acting sus. Will absolutely call an emergency meeting if someone seems to be following someone else or is standing still when a sabotage happens. Will accuse that person actively until theyâre voted off. They just wanna keep their crew safe; if they donât believe youâre a crew member, youâre screwed. As an imposter, they can be kinda reckless. They actively sabotage and run around killing as many people as possible. The game maybe over by the time you realize anyone even died; theyâre quick, especially if they have a fellow imposter they feel can rely on. They will not throw them under the bus as long as they can help it. Theyâd pair well with Type 2s, as theyâre the type to take the initiative for a double kill and they give Type 2 the opportunity to kill while theyâre sabotaging. Very attentive to what their fellow imposter is doing.
Type 9 â As a crew member, they tend to be pretty relaxed; they complete their tasks as needed then go watch cams or sit in waiting for the imposter to see them. If someone comes close, theyâll run away and point out the sus behavior when given opportunity. During emergency meetings, they donât say much unless theyâre called on by someone else or they believe they know who the imposter is. As an imposter, they act similarly to when theyâre crew, but will slip in a kill when they see an opportunity. Donât really try to frame people, but definitely hop on the bandwagon when someone else is accused. Not big on sabotaging, but may turn out the lights or shut the doors from time to time. May hang out in the vents for awhile.
