Trans butterflies with pretty sparkles cross stitch pattern 🦋🏳️⚧️✨
I just love creating subtle cross stitch designs which utilise the very pretty colours of the trans flag. I get to spread a little trans joy with the world through with little crosses and sparkles. 💖
Pattern available on my etsy page (link is here >) or in my bio
Tried to join @@trans-rights, got blocked.
I'm honestly confused and upset right now. I tried to join the community @@trans-rights, but the moderator (@blintzestein) refused me three times, without explanation — and now I've been blocked.
I'm new to Tumblr and I really don't understand what I did wrong. What do I have to prove to be accepted as trans in a trans community? This kind of gatekeeping is hurtful and disappointing.
If there's a reason for this, I’d really appreciate an explanation.
Why is this happening in a community that’s supposed to be safe for us?
Changing your name by Deed poll in Ireland
In Ireland, a deed poll is a signed declaration by a person that legally changes their name through the high courts from the date of signing. This is done through a solicitor who then confirms this through the high courts (which will be closed until we return to minimal COVID restrictions).
Most services don’t require a deed poll to be registered but it must be registered for a driving license and to obtain other forms of photo ID
Many solicitors will help you with a deed poll providing that you are 16+. Deed polls are commonly used to change your surname after marriage so they are widely accepted but some solicitors will be slow to help a trans person with this if they have not done it before
A list of solicitors that we are familiar with is provided below (note: this is not a conclusive list and just provides our own experiences):
* Kieran O’Callaghan & Co., South Mall, Cork
* Breen-Walsh solicitors, South Mall, Cork
* O’Shea legal, Chancery place, Dublin
