City Flag Redesign for Lubbock, TX. Inspired by a proposed redesign a few years ago, but the design was a little too... Details and links in comments.
from /r/vexillology Top comment: So, the [original design](https://imgur.com/vRyU4gY) for the Lubbock, Texas flag was adopted in 1971 as a result of a contest held in 1970 by the Women’s Club of Lubbock. Personally not a fan, but it's not near as ostentatious as the infamous [Legendary Lubbock flag](https://imgur.com/yyY5ZV4). It was never officially adopted, but I distinctly remember seeing it fly around the city. The [original flag has changed some](https://imgur.com/tjMRfkw), but to be honest it's not much of an improvement. Two years ago Jared Stanley, a Lubbock Native, redesigned [a new flag](https://imgur.com/TEHe3EP) that he felt better fit the city's heritage. "There are eight spokes representing the eight surrounding counties of Lubbock. Each stripe represents a different thing. The white stripe represents cotton which has historically been known as the city's main cash crop" Unfortunately, I think it looks a bit too much like the Confederate States Flag. Really all I did was add a bit to it. I added a red stripe in the middle that represents Texas Tech University and the deep pride that the people there have for their college community. Red Raider fans are pretty devoted, and I think that should be displayed. The extra white stripe could represent a lot of things (Lubbock Lake Landmark, Education, their Medical advancements, the Silent Wings... look em up), but I added it to create some symmetry and to create a look of two wagon wheels trailblazing. I'd love to run this design by Mr. Stanley, so hopefully someone here knows how to make some moves in the right direction for this. Thanks for looking!
ah.... the evil doctor aesthetic...

Being back means I can post again too, a new chapter “Of Being A Girl” from Arya’s POV in my fic “This Time, We’ll Do Better”. Thank you for @hardlyfatal for betaing this chapter!
That same evening, Arya observed Gendry during the meal and after, when the group gathered together as usual at the campfires. For the first time, she noticed how many girls appeared to seek his company, even as he sat among the other men. Gendry was generally well-liked, that was true, but it seemed it was not just his skills but his looks and build that fuelled a different kind of admiration among the young women in the company.
era aesthetics.
BOLD all that apply!

RENAISSANCE. freckles. the sun rising. watching the sea. taking shots of the city. historical museums. bright eyes. looking up at the clouds. walls covered in artworks. drawing in the middle of lessons. tracing your fingers on the sand. painting for hours. staying in uncrowded coffee-shops. worn paperbacks. messy braids. going to bed with your socks on.
BAROQUE. dark hair. a little sophisticated. always observing the world around you. intricate designs. high ceilings. extravagant musical pieces. dim lights. colourless photographs. fancy furniture. pale skin. hearing soft footfalls coming from outside the room. mischievous looks. bitten nails. candlelight dinners. dark shades of lipstick.
