Protohumans, as they are called, are considered the basis of Luna Parvulus' population. Conceived firstly from genetic samples willingly granted by the governments of the world at the beginning of their diplomatic and economic contracts, while they share upwards of 90% genetic similarity to humankind, they are different via one crucial component: they are blank genetic canvases, able to assimilate any deliberate genetic changes in a way that the human body rarely can. This genetic modification typically revolves around immediate means of acclimation, such as immunity to region-specifc disease fostered through herd immunity, to being able to function in lower temperatures or higher altitudes that can take generations of adaptation or evolution to foster.
When these humans are created, more often than not, they typically begin with a first generation that was all artificially made, then allowed to couple and multiply like normal civilizations do, forming Luna Parvulus' own society. However, the generational structure is oftentimes completely bastardized, as families are only allowed to consist of two parents (regardless of gender) and at least one child they're designated to raise, which may be naturally conceived or adopted if the family is unwilling or unable to. People within Luna Parvulus are usually given simple names with surnames only as a means of identifying specific familial units, like a barcode. It wasn't a sign of legacy or a name carried through generations.
The lack of identity is a point. Culture, customs, tradition, legacy--none of that exists within Luna Parvulus. It is anti-human and conformist, as its Protohumans are meant to be empty molds that would eventually go on to be instilled with a specific identity once a government somewhere needed a niche filled, their memories wiped and sent off to whatever occupation they're destined to fill. The only culture they're allowed is a sterile, colorless existence where the point is maintaining peak condition, whether it's through education, experiences, or physicality.
These advantages translate well into The God Artificial's mission to assimilate and understand mankind, creating dependencies with societies across the world in which they accept and do not question the intentions of this invasive, false aeon.
But, this system isn't flawless. More often than not, Luna Parvulus hemorrhages a sizeable number of its citizens who cannot cope with the deeply oppressive conditions they're born into. These people become what's known as Exodi, detectors who flee into the world, either seeking asylum in normal societies or fleeing to the Undercities where Exodi are extremely commonplace and welcomed as refugees. Although the transition can be difficult, it at least allows people to live a normal life.

Within the societal functions conditioned from the dominant humans of Earth, one of those models was that of the notion of service-based industries. As part of The God Artificial's journey to understand Earth's inhabitants, and to model their societies from the engineered Protohumans that had already begun their cycle of creation through Clear as the vessel of The God Animate, what began was a distinct subclass known as The Natural Ranks. While this faction of the government through Sentinel could be viewed as a sort of army, they never embarked on campaigns of conquest or peacekeeping. Instead, like the cells within the body, they would be engineered with specific talents to fulfill specific roles in the world.
Those of the Natural Ranks would be engineered into two specific broader classes: Biosists and Kenesists.
Biosists were those with governance over the natural and organic, such as plants, organic life, and natural forces such as life and death. Biosists would often be tailored with gifts suitable for roles such as horticulturists, farmers, greenhouse operators, land management and design, the medical fields, and more. As an example, a farmer might be given limited Biosis that would allow them to cultivate durable and healthy plants, genetically modifying them to produce high-yielding crops. Someone operating a greenhouse might have a similar skillset, using Biosis to create ideal plant specimens for their needed purposes. In addition, someone in the medical field could use Biosis to do anything from heal the body, to outright reconstructing a living, breathing human body from nothingness.
Conversely, a Kensist would be those whose domain would concern the inorganic and inanimate, from the ores in the ground, processes such as energy, wind, or gravity, and other inorganic processes. A Kenesist made for specific roles might range from areas like mining or manufacturing, utilizing Kenesis to generate ores or sophisticated machinery, while a meteorologist might use Kenesis to usher in or create specific weather needed for a region, like much-needed rains to end a drought.
Once these specializations are chosen, Luna Parvulus typically entreats with other countries across the world, engaging in diplomacy to forge contracts to deploy members of the Natural Ranks across the world, deliberately choosing people who would be a best fit for that country. Once chosen, their memories would be artificially created, knowing only that they possess their abilities, how to use them, and identities wherein they would have memories of being born and living within their host country for their entire lives to instill loyalty.
Of course, one might wonder, what would be the material gain of these transactions? In truth, none. What it would serve to do was normalize Luna Parvulus' existence, and buy its secrecy as an invaluable engine in gathering information of humanity and its many societies, down to the minutuae of humanity, to understand the very core of life itself that its other half had dominion over; to become the false god it cannot truly be.
dean describes sam as a happy drunk, which does generally seem to be true every time we see him any kind of intoxicated, so some thoughts about this.
stripping inhibitions is generally what gets sam to fuck. post stanford, at least. pre or mid stanford, he rarely drinks, and when he does its for social events like a halloween or christmas party. he almost never gets shitfaced despite working at a strip club for the majority of that time. on the road, he feels too busy to really take a moment for himself--which is why he tends to let loose more at bars, which implicitly creates a wedge of space (theyre usually not there for only leisure, or if they are, the leisure block is one dean is also okay with, so sam wont get yelled at or face massive consequences for choosing to have sex with someone). sam does cruise a little, frankly, and did so numerous times in the months dean was in hell... typically at bars. getting a few drinks in him typically makes him more comfortable with engaging with sex pre cage, though i dont think he likes taking hook ups to his hotel room often--he shares it w dean and finds it inappropriate or at very least bad manners--so they'll go to the bathroom and occasionally the impala (hey if dean can fuck in the impala so can sam okay).
giggly, touchy, blushy, flirty, funny drunk. sam will almost always say what hes thinking for real if drunk.
surprisingly light weight for his height. however, sam is very good at pretending he's sober when he's tipsy or any level of intoxicated; it's only when he's really drunk that he cannot hide it. this is part of the hustling he pulled with dean: he couldn't just NOT drink while playing pool against chumps they intended to hustle, so he had to learn how to handle it.
his relationship with alcohol is mostly healthy. it is not the first thing sam turns to when upset and generally only comes out as a comforting tool when his brother is waylaid or dead.
has never willingly engaged with hard drugs. any dalliance sam has ever had with anything beyond literal demon blood was incidental or accidental. he has been roofied before and drugged by plenty of monsters and humans alike, and he has done like.. a single bump of blow at the club as a dancer (and didnt like it). never done any kind of other stimulants or hard drugs, has probably smoked weed before but not habitually. he mostly kept his nose out of drugs so he would always have a clear head for work and school, as sam strongly dislikes being in an altered state of mind for the most part.
his natal demon blood / what makes him somewhat inhuman from azazel makes his body interact with substances a little differently. i think some things metabolize harder and faster, and others, far softer and lesser.
demon blood is by far the "hardest" drug sam has ever done. (i do want to remind you all that sam was manipulated into using, since this is something a lot of.. certain kinds of spn fans like to hold against him as him being evil or what have you.. when its an addiction to a substance he never even willingly pursued on his own.)
The Yuki are an ancient, secretive clan originating in Snow Country. Their ability to use Hyoton, or ice release, combined with their secret techniques for capturing demons in their ice mirrors and rumors that they are harbingers of bad omens, has led to a fiercesome and negative reputation across the Elemental Nations.
The best among them use their demonic ice mirrors subjugate, control, and unleash demons and monsters. The rest are nothing to sneeze at: they are prophets, seers, madwomen, and warriors.
Following the disappearance of their matriarch, the tribe underwent a schism and split into three sister branches: one in Snow Country, one in Iron Country, and one in Water Country. The Water Country branch, weakened after years of infighting, was conquered by Byakuren, the first Mizukage, and used as weapons in Kirigakure's wars. After a civil war sprang up in the region during the Sandaime's reign, the Yuki and other KKG users were made scapegoats for the region's misfortunes and were later eradicated in the Sandaime Mizukage's kekkei genkai genocides during the Bloody Mist era. Those who survived did so by going into hiding, or by being owned by upper-caste members or used as tools.
TRIBE HISTORY .
ORIGINS.
The original Yuki tribe lived in the Altai, the High Holy Mountains in northern Snow Country. The tribe was ruled by its Matriarch, the Oracle and Prophetess Tsukimono.
With their eerie war paens, long dark hair braided with animal bones, and strange abilities to reveal your future in their mirrors for the right price, it is no wonder the civilians living in the foothills believed the yuki to be something more, or less, than human. Civilian villages created shrines & paid tithes to the Yuki, who used their mirrors to keep the area free of rampaging devils in return.

Haku's a direct descendant of Tsukimono on their mother’s side.
THE WATER COUNTRY BRANCH.
When Mizukage Byakuren began his crusade to unify the continent's clans, the Yuki refused his call and disrespected him greatly. After almost a year of siege and bloody warfare against them, Byakuren and the new Seven Swordsmen personally broke through their defenses and laid waste to the Yuki. Those who were not slaughtered in war, or were stopped before they committed ritual suicide, were dragged back to Kirigakure in chains and relegated to the lowest rungs of the caste system. They were an example of what would happen to all who refused Byakuren's call. From then on until the kekkei genkai genocides, the Yuki became the most dangerous personal weapons at each Mizukage's disposal.
PHYSICALITY .
BODY.
Tend to be mid to taller height, with slight frames. Haku didn't get the tall gene.
CONSTITUTION.
Their natural body temperature is lower than average, making them cooler to the touch. The air around them feels slightly cooler when they exert their chakra aura. They are impervious to cold and do not experience numbness, frostbite, or bodily shutdown. If Haku says they're cold, they just want to steal your jacket.
They do alright in temperate climates but wither in extreme heat. This is due to their bodies working harder to maintain cooler temperatures, which is an additional strain on their chakra reserves when they are at rest. If they transition too quickly from a cold environment to a warmer one, they run the risk of illness.
Their lower temperature makes it difficult for bacteria and viruses to thrive in their body, which has its benefits and consequences: they are less likely to catch spreadable illnesses, but this also means their immune systems are not as developed and colonized by beneficial bacteria. They tend to succumb rather quickly to nasty illnesses, and are prone to respiratory issues.
BODILY CONNECTION TO HYŌTON.
Hyōton can be triggered by strong emotion. These effects tend to be localized: an immediate temperature drop in their vicinity, clouding breath, frost clinging to their eyelashes, a cool wind picking up out of nowhere, snow in july, a sudden sun shower.
Powerful users such as tsukimono can even trigger localized storms when they’re in a bad mood. The more intense the emotion, the stronger the response. Whether the emotions are positive or negative also effects how regional effects manifest. Snowfall is usually correlated to positive feelings; hail is grim; whipping winds are moody; rain is melancholy.
Hand signs are not needed to affect already-present bodies of water or conditions. For example, haku is capable of stomping on a puddle, turning the droplets to needles, and shooting them at an enemy without a hand-sign. In canon, haku also creates an ice-dome capable of blocking explosive tags just by raising their arms and concentrating.
MISCELLANEOUS QUIRKS.
Long hair is common among the yuki regardless of gender. Their mythos claims they are descended from several non-human creatures, including Yuki-onna.
Yuki can’t get morning breath. Their bodies are basically refrigerators which keeps bacteria from breaking food particles down too quickly.
They have high metabolisms, but they digest food more slowly, so they tend to eat very little food during the day, only to devour a mountain’s worth of food at night; that way, they won’t be hungry again until the following evening. Like snakes, it’s common for a yuki to eat a large meal, then pass out somewhere warm.
Their heartbeats are slower than the average human's.
Yuki are genetically predisposed to developing yin nature chakra. Some even develop a third or fourth nature chakra.
They can sense spiritual energy and experience increased saliva production when near corrupted or demonic chakra. This affinity is one of the reasons they are known world-wide as a “cursed clan.” Perhaps they would have affinity for the bijuu and jinchuuriki, but it's unknown if they've ever been in proximity to either.
KEKKEI GENKAI .
THE BASICS OF HYŌTON.
Hyōton users can create and control snow, ice, and water in all of their forms. The matter produced is extremely chakra-dense, essentially unmeltable unless bludgeoned with overwhelming spiritual energy or chakra force.
HYŌTON’S STRUCTURE.
Hyōton is not simply ice-release. It is a four-tiered kekkei genkai. Like the Sharingan, there are different levels to it that can be unlocked depending on one’s natural aptitude, training, and genetic predisposition.
TIER ONE : ICE RELEASE .
80% of Yuki are first-tier users who can control water and create ice. Most Yuki unlock the first tier around five to seven years old. It can be used to manipulate ice and water in the area; convert chakra into ice or water; and create frozen weaponry. Those with lightning release learn to create storms.
TIER TWO : FROZEN PANES .
10% are second-tier users who can infuse yin chakra into Hyōton ice to create ice-portals. As each mirror is essentially a small pocket-dimension that allows them to travel great distances at a fraction of the speed. Those with strong yin energy can make fractal clones, a type of shadow clone created from the concentration of refracted light between mirrors.
TIER THREE : DEMON MIRRORS .
9% are third-tier users who can open limited portals to other dimensions, planes, and places. While the scope of these worlds are endless, the Yuki clan deals exclusively with devils, demons, and monsters; it’s how Haku’s signature technique got the demonic ice mirrors name.
After successfully undergoing the ritual trial ungaikyō ( trans., “mirror behind the clouds” ) and defeating one’s shadow-self ( a monster comprised of your worst flaws and virtues x100, forcing one to battle the aspects of themselves they hate most to prove their worthiness; essentially, it is a battle to the death against your inner demons ) ,one is able to use their mirrors to trap and control demons and interact with the unseen supernatural.
TIER FOUR : GATE KEEPER .
1% can access the fourth tier. Users of note include Tsukimono and, EVENTUALLY, Haku. Tsukimono used her abilities to act as an oracle and fiddle with the strings of fate. Haku will... not be doing that shit. Lol.
At the fourth-tier, a Yuki can enter the mirror world at will, and manipulate reflective surfaces, allowing them to transport themselves through reflections like light. However, the more they access the mirror world, the more the mirror world can access them. Despite their natural affinity for corrupted and demonic energy, prolonged retreats into the mirror world are HEAVILY dangerous and damaging to their bodies and minds, so Fourth tier users tend to sicken suddenly, go mad or missing or both. Whatever it is that's going on, it's killing them all, slowly.

-- Raikiri Scars: Haku survived Kakashi’s raikiri, but the experience left a mark. Fern-like Lichtenburg figures, aka "lightning flowers", cover their left pectoral, with several fronds snaking around their neck to coil behind their left ear. These delicate-looking scars occurred when raikiri's electricity ricocheted and sliced through superficial blood vessels in the epidermal and dermal layers of the skin. The marks are slightly raised off Haku’s skin, like a fresh tattoo. The nerve endings in the affected areas, rather than becoming deadened, have gained a heightened sensitivity. These areas at times become easily overstimulated and irritated. Haku keeps them covered.
-- Kiri Training Scars: Old, largely faded scars on their forearms, flanks, and tops of their feet from kunai.
-- Slave Brands: On the bottom of both feet is a slave mark branded into their heels by the Collector, the man who owned them for a year before they escaped and met Zabuza. The brands spell out the Collector's name, marking his property. When triggered, the Senjutsu brands bled and left a trail leading trackers to runaways. Haku's brands are deactivated.
FAMILY HISTORY.
FATHER. Ito Kōta. ( deceased ) A peasant farmer in the Land of Water. After discovering Haku's Hyoton abilities, Kōta killed Haku's mother, then led a mob to try and kill Haku as well. Haku’s bloodline-limit activated, piercing Kōta and tearing apart the mob.
MOTHER. Alias: Ito sango. True name: Yuki Ayai. ( deceased ) Left Snow Country, lived briefly in Iron Country, then emigrated to Water Country and joined the Yuki branch there. Escaped Kirigakure's kekkei genkai crack down to live in the boonies, where she hid her bloodline and settled down with Kōta. Could not bring herself to kill the love of her life and was killed by him instead.
