Who wants some Transformers Prime fluff with a dash of feels?
âWhat even is this relic?â
Bulkhead carefully placed the triangular and beautifully engraved pyramid on Ratchetâs workbench. The servo sized rusty, gold pyramid puzzled the Autobots as they carefully approached it. Bumblebee even going out of his way to poke it with a broom as Ratchet and Optimus inspected it.
âIt looks familiar. I canât recall what it does but I remember seeing it as an archivist in Iacon.â Optimus mused, âIt looks of Vosian build. The intricate detailed markings were popular with their crafters.â
âIâll be the judge of that.â
Alliance gave an amused drawl at the jumpy reaction from the Autobots. Arcee firmly holding her ground as he walked forward, âLike we can trust you, Con. You may turn it on and snuff out our sparks. Or eject some chemical into the air that nullifies our sensors. OrâŠâ
âOr we can let him take a look.â Ratchet snapped, waving his servo for the gold and black dappled seeker to approach.
Alliance smugly stuck his glossa out at the femme as he skipped over to the relic. His wings shooting up and fanning out in glee. An excited chirp burst from his vocals as he stared, âBy the AllsparkâŠI thought Iâd NEVER see this again! This was my favorite piece I lent out on loan to the Iacon Halls!â
âYou know this relic? What does it do?â
âHa! Itâs the best relic ever!â Alliance waved over Bumblebee, âBee, I want you to close your optics and I want you to think back before the war. What was your favorite spot on Cybertron? Your favorite memory? What about homeâŠ.fills you with joy?â
Alliance stared thoughtfully down at Bumblebee as he processed the words of the seeker. A soft set of beeps and chirrs followed before Alliance put up his hands, âAh ah! Donât tell us. Feel. Remember. And place your hand on the smooth side of the relic.â
Bumblebee paused for a moment, then slowly reached his servo out. As his servo gently pushed into the smooth metal a sudden light filled the base, followed by a rush of engines roaring.
âYou fragger! We shouldnât have trusted y- ahhh!!!!â
Alliance gave a bright laugh as Arcee jumped up into his arms as a pair of hot rods drove by before disappearing into the walls of the base. As suddenly as they appeared and disappeared more followed, the holograms racing about the area while the Autobots looked on stunned as the base slowly shifted into a race track filled with young mech racing around. Optimus giving his own chuckle as Bumblebee chirped with excitement as the holograms raced passed in alt mode and on foot. The larger mech turned to look at the seeker, âIt is a memory hologram. It shows what the fondest memories one has. I remember it now, many mechs and femmes enjoyed this piece.â
âOf course! It was better in a larger area so many Cybertronians could enjoy beloved memories or places they had never seen in person but dreamed they could. Thatâs why I donated, better to be enjoyed by many than sitting in some stuffy room while a bunch of blathering nobles could leave it collecting dust.â Alliance gave a soft smile as he sat Arcee back on her pedes, âWant to move it to the bigger training room?â
Alliance gave a throaty laugh as he laid back onto the floor staring up at the bright sun shining down on the Acid Wastes. Beautiful scenery with no fear of acidic rust or the horrid smell of burning geysers, it was a shame the real place wasnât more popular. The Autobots each bickering over where to visit next, the kids staring up and around the hologram room in awe and wonder as they were taken on a tour of their protectors home world.
âWhat about you Alliance? You havenât picked a location yet.â Bulkhead nodded at the relic sitting on the metal table.
âNah, you Autobots wouldnât enjoy my favorite spot.â
âWell now Iâm even more intrigued, wings.â Wheeljack sat up from his spot grinning at the seeker. The Wrecker and seeker having hit it off after the first week of Alliance being allowed in the base.
âPlease, Alliance!â âCome on! I bet it somewhere up high! Like a tower or something!â
The kids enthusiasm growing as Miko bounced around his pedes. Giving a soft chuff he brought himself to his feet and walked over to the relic. Turning to looking back at the group, even Optimus and Ultra Magnus slowly began to turn their heads to take in what new place awaited. Closing his optics, Alliance stood before the relic, quietly venting before he reached out and touched the metal. A soft shift filled the room as Kaon came into view.
âKaon.â Optimus rumbled, his optics carefully watching the seeker as Kaon slowly shifted around them as if searching for something.
A sudden building formed before them, something that wasnât intimidating or even threatening. It was a simple clean building scattered among others more run down and bland looking buildings and shops. The doors opened and suddenly the room shifted once more pulling them inside. Once inside the Autobots heard the sound of pedes and squeals.
The group turned just in time to see a group of sparklings rush by. The leader was a big Constructicon build as smaller racers raced after him on foot. Each one holding a toy blaster or a shield, their tiny voices laughing and calling out. One small racer femme came following dragging a stuffed mech twice her size.
Alliance bent down as the little hologram femme drug the toy by the leg while her legs kicked up smoke as her tires tried to play catch up. His helm tilted to the side and his helm fins flicking with adoration as he watched on with pride. Turning to look up at the group he dipped his head, bashful at the sudden looks he was receiving, âThis is my favorite spot. Kaon was harsh and cruel on its citizens. This was the one spot that always had hope and joy in it. These kids were some of the toughest little slaggers I knew. Picket, was found outside of the Pits chewing on weak Scraplets. And Nanobite, she managed to out smart several Kaon police before they wrangled her a few days later after her sire died.â
Alliance gave a bright smile as a hologram jumped through his chest plates to reveal a bulky tank youngling with thin sheets of metal cut to resemble wings tied to his back. The younglings arms wide as he swerved around the room while others joined in.
âDreadnaught wanted to grow up and be a seeker. He was eventually adopted by a Seeker trine, they loved their âgroundedâ seeker.â Alliance scanned the room, âWind Rise and her sister were some of the best volunteers we could have asked for. Their whole team was great with the young ones. The older ones always had a tough timeâŠnever really trusting anyone.â
The seekers wings lowered as he walked over to a young mech, clearly a young adult starting out on his own. Alliance softly sigh as he reached out towards the mech before he walked away and vanished. Optimus placed a comforting servo on his shoulder, âIâm sure they appreciated what you did. They just never could tell you.â
Alliance gave a soft hum in response. Smokescreen coming up beside to look where the young mech had vanished, âWho was he?â
âSmokescreenâŠâ Smokescreen flinched as Arcee hissed from the group.
âItâs ok. That was Buck Shot. He was one of first young mechs I brought in off the streets to safety. Never really trusted anyone. Always dreamed of being the greatest warrior of Kaon and was going to be the lead guard for the Senate.â Alliance gave a deep frown, âUntilâŠuntil war started. Then he became infatuated with killing.â
Walking away Alliance sat down heavily on the ground tucking his legs up to his face, âI kept telling him he didnât need the highest kill count to be a great warrior. Some of the hardest battles are won in times of silenceâŠbut he was stubborn. Always out to prove something to all of us.â A small hand brought Alliance back as he looked down at Rafael. âHe perished in the Senate High Guard. As Soundwave dragged me out of there I saw his broken husk of a corpse. I wanted him to go with the rest of the Neutrals, start a new life somewhere and ride out the chaosâŠbutâŠwho knows. After I healed from my wounds and T-Cog removal surgery, Soundwave always stuck close to me for a while. He had lost several of his Mini-Cons as wellâŠso we both suffered in silence together. Megatron never really spoke to either of us about them, but some nights he would come and stand silently beside us for a few moments. He never spoke with words, but he didnât really need to.â
It was Optimusâ turn to sit down next to the seeker. The room silent except for the hologram sparklings happy squeals and laughter. Turning his head towards Optimus, Alliance gave a sad smile, âI always told Megatron he didnât need the Matrix to be a great leader. He was already a great leader without it. Orion Pax needed the Matrix to have the courage to be a mech that people would listen to.â A torn wing playfully nudged the Primeâs shoulder, âYou were always too quiet when Megatron was around. Too soft spoken and kept your thoughts locked away in that head of yours.â
Optimus gave his own smile, playfully nudging the seeker back, âA wise mech once said the hardest battles were won in silence.â
Dipping his head Alliance sat back on his arms, a soft smile breaking out across his face as he took in the holograms. Tilting his head back he called out, âFeel free to change to a different location when you want. I know this wasnât the most thrilling location to pick.â
âIt may not be,â Ratchet walked over, letting out a low groan as he sat down on the other side of Alliance. A small smile appearing as the youngling named Dreadnaught ran by, âBut after millennial of infighting, this is a perfect place to enjoy for a while.â
A chorus of soft agreements followed.
