Nobody talks about how it feels to date with a chronic illness. The constant insecurity and fear of being a burden and comparing yourself to others all the time. Especially with an illness that progressively worsens so you don't even want to marry because you're scared of trapping someone into a caregiver role they didn't sign up for. so I was told today that I have lupus. it's good to have an answer, but I'm still figuring out what to make of this. it's also likely I don't have a proper connective tissue disorder, and my connective tissue symptoms are due to inflammation.
Me, ready to get things done but waiting for my meds to kick in so I can find out how functional I’m gonna get to be today:
I’m so exhausted/angry. Yesterday my wee smelled funny. That was it. Today my right flank hurts, my abdomen is tender, I have a ripper of a headache and my hips hurt so badly I can’t sit properly. I have a kidney infection.
Oh, and it turns out that when I’ve been in hospital for a lupus flare and my urine has been tested, I’ve been positive for protein. Twice. No one told me (or anyone?! It just wasn’t followed up!). I’m going to call up my rheum and ask him his opinion.
2018 really kicked me in the guts health-wise. I hit some lows I didn’t think possible. I am praying that this year doesn’t turn out the same, because I’ve made some massive progress in my recovery from last year that I can’t afford to have undone.

[26/06/19] Systemic Lupus Erythematosus
Brain fog friday
Lost my debit card (again). I swear to adorable baby pandas that my brain and I are just not on speaking terms.
It's terrifying looking back on your younger self and realizing your chronic illness is worsening
