“You should really get these trimmed, Ma’am.” A soft growl left her lips as the tenrec grasped a pillow and pressed her face into it. “Don’t lecture me about my quills Drippy.” A pause before he lifted his head from the pillow and leveled a slight glare. “And what did I tell you about using ma’am when my binder’s off?” ~~ Or, the fic in which Kitsunami helps his partner get some much-needed rest.

Any time they sit down anywhere, Kit sits right on Surge's lap and gives everyone the death stare. Surge always has a hand on one of Kit's thighs. Eating? In a meeting? Doesn’t matter

When they're some place like the restoration building or in an alley near people they know (Sonic's friends), Surge should pull Kit aside just out of sight and start making out with Drippy sloppily, just loud enough for people to hear.

While stuck in a conversation she doesn't want to be in, Surge occasionally just choosing to snap her fingers and loudly tell Kit that they're leaving. Kit wraps his hydro coils around her (tenderly) and airlifts them both out in style

Neither Surge nor Kit taking no for an answer when people try to separate them (because they're a package deal!), no matter what they have to do to get their way

I need someone like Vector to point at their asses in public and go "is that allowed??" only for someone to tell him "just ignore them. They're just like that. If you point it out it'll only get worse"

"I ship them because of canon" You see. I didn't really have an opinion of their relationship for a while so I just accepted it when people said they were siblings canonically, and then as I got further into the games and started reading the Shadow manga I eventually couldn't ignore just how much their canon relationship and fanon potential compelled me anymore. Like with S0ntai1s and S0n1ne, it's really their canon and spin off media interactions which got me hooked to begin with. Like canon really presented to us "they kept each other from feeling lonely, were each other's best friends, Maria was so deeply important to Shadow that he structured his morals and reasons for living around her and has been very fixated on her memory ever since he awoke from the pod" and expected me to feel normal about them?

"Deranged" Self explanatory 🙂

"I just want them to be happy, is that too much to ask?!" Listen listen I love the tragic nature of their relationship in canon and it's fun to adapt in fanon too, but even I love to imagine sometimes scenarios in which Maria lived and they were able to be happy together I crave it🥺🥲💖

"I ship them platonically" like with the previous ship bingo answer involving S0n1ne and S0ntai1s, Shadaria is one of those ships where my favorite depiction of them is queerplatonic. I can enjoy them platonically as best friends quite a lot for sure (and same with the romantic interpretation), it's just that the idea of them not having a solid idea of what their relationship is beyond their friendship and their arrangement (with Shadow assisting Maria) or the fact that they'd love to be by each others' sides forever is really compelling to me. An intensely strong bond to each other which the usual labels can't easily pin down

"OTP" In this case it's not that they're my otp overall for the Sonic franchise. Rather, it's that Shadaria is alongside Mephadow as my OTPs for Shadow ships in specific. And really, it's hard for me not to be so invested in such a strong relationship like this (one that is so integral to Shadow's character and backstory)

*Shoulder Grip* Listen listen listen I may not have been able to formulate thoughts and essays as quickly/often as I have with Sontails but guys. Guys. My brain is vibrating with them. I search up the tag on tumblr all the time because I adore seeing them. It is only because of busy and fatigue that I am not posting more about them. The Shadow Manga and Movie 3 continue to make the brain rot worse💖

"They are so sooooooo silly :3" Like in general I do love the idea of Maria getting her and Shadow into mischief from time to time on the ARK (as her condition allows, and when she can get away with it), but it's especially Sonic Movie 3 Shadaria that has me like this 😁💖

"I ship them because of canon" Okay so like, I first started getting into Kiturge partially because they're explicit S0ntai1s parallels and partially cause a friend of mine got really into them before I read idw and made me read Imposter Syndrome before I finished reading the Archie comics. And man. They have got something they've truly got something. They're canonically co-dependent, Kitsunami wants to be with Surge forever, same trauma, they're talked about sticking it to the world and paving their own road together, they're toxic and yet surprisingly soft about each other, they're partners, they need each other, etc etc I love them. With every new issue that comes out it's just made abundantly clear to me that (like Sonic and Tails) this is the strongest relationship they will have with anyone. They are not to be separated. They've grown together. They were quite literally made for each other y'all like what's not to get obsessed over?

"Deranged" M-Me? Deranged about Surge and Kit? What? Nooooo... *very obviously hides my large essay series in my drafts dissecting their characters and relationship in comic canon*

"I just want them to be happy, is that too much to ask?!" Please universe if I could just ask for one thing. Please. Allow them to take the third path they desired so long ago, to reject being forced into being heroes or villains (good or bad) and just be allowed to adventure together and be partners forever, doing that which makes them happy💖 They deserve what Sonic/Tails and Mighty/Ray have, and also to get to be in the morally grey area that Team Dark gets to be in

"I ship them platonically" Ahshsjs I know I'm gonna sound like a broken record at this rate but my ideal Kiturge dynamic is queerplatonic also. Like Sonic, I see Surge on the aroace spectrum, as someone who doesn't feel romantic/sexual attraction in a usual manner and doesn't particularly desire/care about romance. Her and Drippy would never do something like kiss or ask each other out or any classic way to begin a relationship. They'd just be together for so long that they'd naturally start to blur the lines in their relationship, and so they'd enter a stage of "not dating but also not not dating so secret third thing". They'd be able to trust each other more than anyone else, they'd feel safe experimenting witb each other. They could french kiss simply because Surge randomly decided she wanted to try one, and decided Kit was the best option of experimentation. As for Kit himself, I think of him a bit more like Nine, someone who's also on the aroace spectrum and doesn't fully know what love is, but is a bit bewildered by potentially experiencing romantic/sexual feelings for the first time. He gets jealous of others that gets close to Surge, he wants to be useful to her, he wants to be praised by her, he wants to be her partner forever. He could give less of a shit whether Surge has platonic or romantic or any other feelings about him as long as it still means that she wants him around and looks at no one else

"I swear to god if anything happens to them I will cry" Listen I just need them to end up alive, together, and happy living their best lives with each other it is all I ask

"THEY NEED TO KISS ALREADY" It would fluster the hell out of whoever is the receiver at first (as opposed to the initiator) they should make out sloppy for me. So sloppy that it makes other people around them uncomfortable

"They need to bite each other harder and more often" You see usually when I put this tag it's because the two characters should continue to tear each other apart with their bare hands. In this specific case, they should bite each other harder and more often because it's hot. I think actually Kit would enjoy if Surge gave him bites of affection (one he realizes they're bites of affection), and they could also bite each other as foreplay to get freaky about it

"OTP" Not my OTP for the Sonic series as a whole, but definitely my OTP for Surge and Kit's characters for sure. Not a single Kit ship of mine comes even close, and while I have a large number of Surge ships (some that I am really into), Kiturge is undoubtedly number 1.

Have you seen the soft way Kitsunami handles and cradles Surge when Surge is unconscious or stressed as hell?😭💚🩵

Mephadow

"They keep me up at night" Listen I have not been okay about them since I watched the Sonic 06 cutscenes. I often think about what was and what could have been and what could be

"I ship them because of canon" Okay, so I believe I've told this story before, so I'll try to be brief. But I wasn't expecting to ship them when I got into 06. Based on fandom jokes and talk about the game these days, I assumed I would end up being really into M3philver (which I am, but in this case I mean like. Otp level for Mephiles ships), and then I'd be into Mephadow the same way I'm into Inf1nad0w and other ships of the like (which is to say, I thought it would be a hate ship basically). And then Mephiles’s intense festering desire for revenge turned into desire in the span of like. What. Five minutes? Mephiles was all "Oh you don't remember me? Well I remember you. What awaits you is oblivion!" and then after like 5 minutes he switches gears to trying to convince Shadow to give up on the world and join him. He wanted Shadow the Hedgehog so badly it made him look stupid, and even Shadow was interested in him for a minute there? Yeah that's what did me in canon wise. Mephiles getting fixated on Shadow and wanting him to join him with the addition of Mephiles' disappointment over Shadow refusing to join him.

"Deranged" Listen, I'm deranged about Mephiles and deducing what's going on with him to begin with, and him becoming interested in Shadow in 06 the way he does is a part of that

"I just want them to be happy, is that too much to ask?!" In this case, I like to imagine two scenarios. One (which I wouldn't want in canon) where Shadow joins Mephiles and they burn everything down together but also like are lowkey married/partners about it. The second one (which I wouldn't mind in canon) is a scenario in which Mephiles does manage to claw his way into the new timeline, but he ends up being stuck staying under the radar and living among the common people so long that he starts to become a bit more attached and a bit less keen to fulfill his deep down desire to burn it all. Then he and Shadow cross paths again and they (who in this scenario find the other interesting) eventually form a closer relationship. Dunno if that makes any sense. Basically the two options are either "they fulfill Mephiles' 06 desires together" or "Mephiles grows to become more attached to the world in his attempt to lay low and gain power to enact his plans and then ends up together with Shadow as a partner". That's the short of it

*Fist banging* THE POTENTIAL GUYS THE POTENTIAL

"THEY NEED TO KISS ALREADY" Listen to me while I would love something mutual where they kiss so sloppy and freakily everyone is outta there, I will at minimum take a onesided kiss filled with all of Mephiles’ stewing and festering feelings while Shadow is just like🧍during his split second of surprise (which includes "wtf?"). They should have one for Mephiles’ sake at least. It would make him worse about Shadow, but he should get one anyways

"I ship them in spite of canon" I know with the way canon is going Mephiles basically got rejected twice, and the second time was new timeline Shadow's first impression of him (not good), and also he technically died again, but this is why I also like to fantasize about the what ifs of them actually getting together/how it would happen🤷

"OTP" Not my otp for the series as a whole, but definitely my OTP for Mephiles ships (with M3phi1ver as a close second) and Shadow ships (up at #1 with Shadaria)
