my new favourite hobby is to title my business chapter notes in the stranger things font because I just finished it on netflix and I’m obsessed.

sorry I haven’t posted in a couple of days, this week as been very busy and I’ve had a lot to process. On Wednesday, in the midst of A Level mocks I found out that I didn’t get into Oxford university to study English. Naturally, I was gutted and I cried relentlessly for pretty much the whole day. The rest of the day was spent reading vogue, eating lasagne and watching friends on Netflix, feeling very sorry for myself. I completely anticipated this result however that didn’t soothe the pain and I still felt as though all my dreams had been completely ripped out right from under me. Then I realised that I perhaps need to put more trust in myself and whatever this world has prepared for me. I woke up on Thursday with the confidence that I am strong, I am powerful, hardworking and I am going to get whatever I want one day. It just might not be that day. I woke up knowing that if I focus on the work, I can get 3A*s at A Level and I will do well wherever I end up next year.
I think in the studyblr community we often shy away from failure, or see it as something feared or the end of the world. But failure is not a closed door, failure is simply the opening of another door to take you a different root to your final destination. I think we should all live in the knowledge that if we focus on the work, then one day we will get where we are going and we will be happy.

Hi💖💖I love your blog, do you have tips for IGCSE English, math, science, economics?
hello darling ! i never took econ at gcse but i can absolutely help with the others!
ok so firstly - igcse is different to gcse. it is harder, it is assessed differently, and you NEED to make sure you are looking at igcse resourcesi’ve seen too many people just completely miss out topics because they’ve been looking at gcse revision guides or specs
secondly - the specification is your best friend ! honestly. read it. memorise it. make your notes from it. ESPECIALLY for igcse science it has absolutely everything you need to know. if it’s not on the spec, you don’t need it. i want to see you reciting the specification in your sleep.
thirdly - past papers! CHURN THOSE MOTHERF*CKERS OUT! i was given this advice by my crush in the year above maybe 2 months before my exams and it saved my life. when you’ve hit the grade you want 2/3 times in a row on past papers, you’re ready. literally nothing will prepare you as much as these guys.
remember: gcse is literally just memory regurgitation. english language is an exception, but literature, maths, sciences, humanities, whatever. the examiners don’t know or care how smart you are - they just want you to jump through hoops. so jump through their bloody hoops my friend! don’t get too smart, just hit the targets the spec tells you to hit, know your keywords and BOOM a*s all round
if you need specific help i adore english, biology & econ so hit me up xx
best of luck, aisling 💓
an old spread but one im v happy with for the first week of classes! ignore the fact that i crossed out like 10 appointments on thursday bc i got mixed up lmao
