Hey, do you have any tips/resources on food planning for students? (btw I looked it up on your blog... the site 'agirlcalledjack' is closed.. doesn't work anymore) I mean like, not the economics of how to buy, but actually figuring out WHAT to have... deciding alone usually takes me too much time and I end up either having the same thing all over again or skipping meals. Also for those who live in a dorm with VERY limited fridge space? (eg. i only have half a shelf)
I would like to thank this anon too for their incredible patience because this has been in my inbox for almost a year! my bad! <3
Sooo I’m not sure if anon still struggles with this but if other people struggle with this too maybe the following tips might be helpful!
Meal prep. Prepare several different meals for a few days, a week or if you have a freezer a few weeks.
Make sure you always have a few basics in cans in storage (eg in your room if it doesn’t fit any of the shelves)
Google budget recipes! For me this tip went hand in hand with the first one because I bought the ingredients for several budget recipes prepared all of them in one day put them in little containers and froze them! This way if you’re uninspired or too tired after a long day of studying you don’t have to think about it you can either heat it up in a pan or pop it in the microwave! :D
Always have pasta and veggies and fruit because skipping a meal is never good (I’m being an incredible hypocrite here but trust me after you would have fainted one too many times because you either skipped or forgot to eat a meal too you’d say the same)
I hope these tips can help you out a bit! If you have more questions you can always ask them! (I will try to answer them sooner this time hahaha)
Lots of love and take care,
