Brambloser and Trashfur can go slip on a banana peel.
I needed to find a list of all warrior cats and decided to find it throught Squirrelflight, decided to see how old is she, (9.83/118 moons almost 10 years old) and then decided to see Bramblestar's age (11.58/139 moons, almost 12 years)
Bramble was 21 moons old when Squilf was born.
He was interested in her when she was around 9/11 moons old, they traveled a long time. He was 30/32 moons old
That's... yeah..
Yep…
That to me is one of the biggest turn offs I have with those two, even putting aside Bramble’s character decline through the series. I know some people think the concept of age difference shouldn’t really be a big issue as it’s RAMPANT in the series. But that doesn’t make it okay. And this goes for ships like FeatherCrow and SpottedFire as well, I’m not picking and choosing. All shouldn’t be a thing imo. It’s not healthy to me if warriors were grown adults by the time their partners were born.
I also don’t like how the fandom gets hypocritical over all of this. I remember when an artist, won’t say their name as they’ve since distanced themselves from the ship, produced an admittedly really good artwork for a Stormfur X Squirrelflight AU and ultimately took it down after there was a backlash towards the age difference in the ship. Now I’m not saying people were wrong for criticising the ship, it does have the issues that I too have a problem with, however how come I don’t see this same type of backlash for ships like BrambleSquirrel or FeatherCrow, or do we just ignore them since they’re canon? 😠
I’m not saying people are awful for shipping these things, since in the world of the books it really isn’t seen as an issue. But it still gives off pretty troubling vibes to me and is dangerously close to being really problematic for real children reading them. Let’s not pick and choose though, we shouldn’t be hypocritical.
in another life, i would be your girl

squirrel should have gotten together with pre-fire scene ashfur
strongly agree | agree | neutral | disagree | strongly disagree
I can see them sorta working, but even before... that, I don't think they would've worked well as a couple. I think Squirrelflight would've been better off pursuing literally anyone other than Bramble and Ash
Personally I'm a big fan of Spiderleg or Shrewpaw and Squirrelflight. Crowfeather and Squirrelflight are also good. Really her with any of the road trip squad sans Bramblestar is good in my mind
My brother asked for “Stormflight” so you’re getting Stormfur and Squirrelpaw/flight
this is all i have
