“You need to relax.” Y/n pointed out as she sat there listening to him stress out about a new man with powers hanging around.
“I can’t.” Peter stressed, shaking his head, lifting his hand and biting his nails.
“Yes, you can. Peter he hadn’t done anything yet. You don’t need to worry about this right now.” Y/n hated seeing her brother this stressed. If the guy hadn’t done anything yet then Peter didn’t need to worry to this level.
“But he could be planning something.” Peter stopped pacing, looking at Y/n with wide eyes. Why wasn’t she worried about this? She knew the kind of people he took down and watched as spiderman.
Y/n adjusted herself to sit up and scooted a little forward in her seat. “Even if he is, you won’t know till he does it. So please stop stressing yourself out.”
Peter sat down next to her in defeat. “I just don’t want anyone to get hurt.”
Y/n sympathized with him, knowing how much effort he puts in to keeping everyone and the city safe. “You know you can’t always help that. Besides, his history suggests he only takes out the bad guys.”
“His methods are-”
“Different than yours, but effective.” Y/n knew Peter hated the way Kraven the hunter handled his business but it worked for him. Her brother would never handle things the same way but that didn’t mean it didn’t work.
“I guess. Just please be cautious. We don’t know what he looks like.” Peter knew she had a point but he would never condone this Hunters methods and he couldn’t handle it if something happened to her.
Y/n reached over and grabbed his hand in hers. “I always am.”
Peter nodded, biting his lip before taking a deep breath. “I know, I know it’s just. . . I lost you once, I don't want to lose you again.”
Y/n pulled him into a hug, resting her chin on his shoulder. She would not let anything take her from Peter again. It wasn’t her choice before but it would be if someone tried to separate them again. “You won’t.”
Peter nodded trying to convince himself of her promise. He cleared his throat pulling out of the hug. “Are we still on for tomorrow night?”
Y/n knew he was changing the subject because it was hard for him, and she let him. “Of course. See you then, brother.”
Peter stood up and headed to the door to leave Y/n’s apartment. He smiled at her. “See you then, sis.”
Neither sibling noticed or even had an inkling to the eyes that had been watching them the whole time from the roof of the building across the way. Eyes of a hunter that was forming a plan in his head on how to get closer to a spider under the radar.

It had been a few days since Peter had warned Y/n of a new potential threat. But she wasn’t going to let that deter what she wanted to do. So Y/n went about her life as normal.
That was till she bumped into a stranger on the sidewalk. “I am so sorry.”
Y/n apologized once she was steady on her feet thanks to said man who grabbed her around the waist so she wouldn’t fall.
“Its alright. No harm done.” The man shook his head with a light unbothered smile on his lips.
Y/n looked up at him for the first tie and was taken back by how handsome this man truly was.
“Sorry.” She blushed, stepping back to give them both space.
Sergei tried to contain his amused smirk. “You said that already.”
“Sor-”
They both laughed at how she was about to say it again.
“Where are you headed? If you don’t mind me asking. I’m Sergei by the way.” Sergei asked, hoping to keep the conversation going.
“I’m Y/n, and I don’t. I’m not going anywhere impurticualr.” Y/n shrugged as they introduced themselves.
Sergei smiled at getting her name, he may have already known it but she didn’t know that. “Well if you have nothing to do may I suggest something?”
“Sure.” Y/n was intrigued so she answered pretty fast.
“Really?” Sergei couldn’t hide his honest surprise at how willing she was when they had just met.
“I’m curious.” She shrugged, smiling up at him. It wasn’t like she couldn’t protect herself if need be.
Sergei couldn’t deny the twinge of fascination he got at her behavior. “Would you like to take a walk with me? I haven’t been here in years, so could you show me around?”
“Sure. Why not.” Y/n didn’t have anything to do and he didn’t seem like a serial killer.
“Lead the way.” Sergei held his hand out, stepping aside so she could lead the way.
They fell in step with each other. “Well, what do you wanna see?” Y/n asked him curious to know what he might want to see around the city.
“Your favorite places.” He shrugged his shoulders as he put his hands in his jacket pockets. Sergei glanced at her shyly. “You seem like someone with good taste.”
Y/n smiled, looping their arms together. “Well that I am.”

2 Weeks Later
“So you have any family here?” Y/n asked as they sat down at a table outside a sandwich shop. Ever since they had met a couple weeks ago the two had met up to do something or go somewhere, and they were getting to know each other as well.
Sergei shook his head after taking a bite, he swallowed before answering her. “No, not here. Do you?”
Y/n nodded ‘yes’, taking a sip of her soda before speaking. “Yeah. My brother and Aunt. Along with some close friends.”
Sergei raised a brow framing curiosity as if he didn’t know that. “A brother? I have one of those.”
“Younger or older?” She asked, curious to know more.
“Younger. Yours?” He might already know but she didn’t know that.
“Older. By 16 months.” Y/n smiled, taking a bite of her own sandwich.
“Close.” Sergei's eyebrows raised in surprise.
“Yeah. We act like twins. For the most part.” She nodded fondly as she thought about how many times people asked if her and Peter were twins. But that also had a big gap in it from when they were kids and to recent years. And thinking about that gap of time and what happened in it made Y/n’s happy expression fall.
Sergei picked up on the change in her emotions and noticed how her eyes visibly dimmed, he reached across the table laying his head on top of hers to gain her attention. “You okay? Where’d your mind go?”
Y/n looked up at him blinking out of her thoughts. “No where.”
“I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable.” It wasn’t his intention to have her mind go to a dark place and he truthfully felt bad that it had. He was just trying to know her, and if Sergei was honest with himself he didn’t know if it was just to find Spiderman's weakness anymore.
“You didn’t.” Y/n squeezed his hand as assurance he didn’t do anything wrong, sending him a tight lipped smile. “So how long are you in the city for?” She asked changing the subject.
Sergei sat back in his seat, he understood the subject change and went with it. He shrugged. “I don’t know yet.”
Y/n raised a brow at his nonchalant response. “No commitments?”
“None holding me down.” Sergei didn’t have to be anywhere at any specific time, and he enjoyed it that way.
“Must be nice, and lonely.” Y/n couldn’t imagine how lonely that could get but to be able to go anywhere anytime that sounded nice. Y/n just would want someone to go with her.
“It can be. But I’m enjoying your company.” Truth was Sergei didn’t like to dwell on how lonely his life was at times. But as much as it wasn’t in his plans he enjoyed hanging out with her more than he planned.
“Y/n?” Peter tilted his head in confusion as he caught sight of his sister when he was about to pass by. And he didn’t recognize who she was sitting with.
“Peter.” Y/n was shocked when she heard him call her name, they didn’t tend to run into each other when they were out and about.
“Who’s this?” Peter pointedly looked towards Sergei with caution and suspension.
“Oh right. Peter, this is Sergei, this is my brother Peter.” Y/n pointed between the two as she introduced them.
“Nice to meet you.” Peter nodded but he didn’t smile, his spidey senses were tingling he felt like something was off with this guy.
“You to.” Sergei nodded in his seat, he was trying not to let it show how on edge he was being this close to his recent hunt.
“So this is your new friend you mentioned.” Peter stated even though it sounded more like a question. He didn’t take his eyes off Sergei. Something just felt wrong.
“This is him.” Y/n nodded with a smile, she could feel some tension between the two but she hoped it was just normal brotherly protectiveness and Sergei’s usual stand off-ishness towards it seemed everyone but her.
“So you're the brother who's been talked highly of?” Sergei tried to lessen the tension by smiling and trying to break the ice.
“That must be me.” Peter gave a tight smile, he didn’t understand why this guy felt off so for now he’d play nice. Maybe his senses could be having an off day. Peter turned to Y/n. “Well I’ve got to go but are you still up for tonight?” It was their usual movie night but sometimes it was also a take down a bad guy night.
Y/n smiled, she couldn’t wait for their annual movie night. “Yeah, I’ll be there.” She hoped it’d be a normal night in with her brother.
With that Peter gave one last nod and bid the both of them farewell and left on his way.
“So I can’t talk you into dinner and movies tonight?” Sergei pouted teasingly once Peter left.
“Raincheck?” Y/n raised a brow hoping to be able to spend more time with him but not willing to cancel time with her brother.
“Of course.” Sergei understood sibling time, but he also knew that the look in both their eyes meant more than possibly just staying home.
After they finished Sergei and Y/n said their goodbyes and went their separate ways. Sergei waited and watched till he noticed Y/n and Peter leave her apartment, and then he followed them. It wasn’t hard for him to keep up and he noticed at some point along the way the siblings had disappeared and reappeared wearing their ‘hero’ suits. Tonight Sergei didn’t plan on exposing himself, it was just about watching and surveying, studying the two.
While he was watching them from afar take down petty theft robbers and some wanna be gang members, Sergei noticed every once in a while how Y/n would glance around suspiciously. It was almost like she knew they were being watched. In fact Sergei was 100% sure he somehow did know someone, him, was watching them from the shadows. Sergei hated it when his mind decided to wonder thinking about her. He started having reservations about his spying and growing relationship and feelings when it came to Y/n. It didn’t feel right. He was starting to realize that all the feelings he was having for her weren’t fake to get to know her and get close to her brother. They were real, and the spying and keeping so much secret wasn’t feeling right anymore. So Sergei decided after Y/n and Peter headed home for the night, done with patrolling the city, that he was going to stop by Y/n’s place and come clean. He was going to come clean tonight hoping that she’ll let him explain and not hate him after.
Sergei got there before Y/n did, he assumed she was changing out of her outfit so no one would notice. He contemplated what exactly he would say to her.
When he heard the key enter the lock Sergei took a deep breath, preparing himself for what he was about to reveal.
Y/n entered her apartment and once she flipped the light switch on she was taken back.
“Sergei!” She gasped, placing her hand over her heart. Y/n looked at him confused. “How’d you-”
“We need to talk.” He stated rubbing his hands together nervously.
“Okay?” Y/n was now on edge. She had never told him where she lived.
Sergei noticed how her posture changed and tensed up, he sighed knowing the chances of their growing relationship ending were high. “I haven’t been completely honest with you. I want to change that. But I need you to let me explain.”
Y/n felt her heart squeeze in her chest as he said those words. “Why do I feel like this is going to cause a lot of pain?”
“I’m hoping it won’t.” he gestures to the couch, his heart clenching at the thought of causing her pain.
Y/n walked over to sit on her couch across from him as he sat in the arm chair to her left. “Go on.”
“Some pain might not be avoidable but I’m hoping you’ll give me a chance to fully explain everything to you.”
Y/n nodded. “I’m listening.”
“I know Peter’s spiderman. I know this because I’m Kraven.” Sergei decided to just rip the bandaid off and get it out of the way.
“The Hunter.” Y/n sat up straighter.
“Yes. . . I originally came here to New York seeking him out. His abilities make him the ultimate hunt.” He further explained nervous considering he just admitted he came here hunting her brother.
“You came to kill my brother.” Y/n narrowed her eyes at him.
“Originally yes. But that changed.” Sergei rushed out panicking on the inside.
“How so?” Y/n didn’t like the sound of him going after her brother.
“I met you.” He answered honestly.
Y/n raised a brow in question, staying guarded. “You met me?”
Sergei nodded, pleading with his eyes. “My plan was to get close to the people that are close to Spiderman. With some digging on my part I found out who he is under the mask.”
Y/n had to admit it wasn’t hard to put together if you looked hard enough, but this also meant they more than likely didn’t meet by accident. “It wasn’t a coincidence we ran into each other. Was it?”
“No.” He could see her putting it together but he still couldn’t get a read on how she was feeling. It was clear that she was keeping her emotions guard now that she knew. “I made that happen. I’ve been spying on you and others close to him for a while now. But since I’ve got to know you, it hasn’t felt right since. I didn’t plan on catching feelings for you. It wasn’t in my plans. But it happened and I don’t regret it.”
Y/n nodded real slowly as realization came over her. “The dates and getting to know each other, that was all to gain information. None of it was ever real was it? Was anything you ever told me even real?”
That was when her emotions broke through just enough that he could tell this was indeed hurting her. She felt used, but that wasn’t the case.
“It was all real. Everything I told you about me, my feelings for you, it was all real. Is real.” Sergei stressed scooting to sit on the edge of the chair. Everything between them was 100% real.
“How can I trust you? How can I trust anything you say to me?” Y/n wanted to, so badly did she want to. But this was a lot.
“Because I’m giving up my pursuit for your brother. It’d hurt you if I don’t and I don’t want to hurt you anymore than I know I already have.” He sent her a weak smile, he really didn’t want to hurt her anymore. The two just stared at each other in silence as Y/n digested all this information. “I want to earn back your trust. Please let me.”
Y/n contemplated his words for a moment. Wanting her trust. “If I’m to give you a chance- another chance. I want the full truth about you. No lies, no hiding anything.”
Sergei nodded, hopeful and willing to do anything to win back her trust. “I promise.”
Y/n looked at him before pleading with him. “Don’t make me regret this.”
Sergei leaned forward wrapping one hand around her neck pulling her to him for a kiss then leaning their foreheads against each other's.
“If we’re telling the whole truth and not hiding anything about each other, then I have a question.” Sergei mentioned pulling away but removing his hand from her neck down to hold her hand.
“Whats this question?” She furrowed her brow waiting for him to ask.
“What are you?” Silence follows the two for a moment before he continues. “You're not spider-like, like your brother.”
Y/n shook her head looking at the floor. “I’m not. Not in that way.”
Sergei could feel her tense up again, he started rubbing his thumb across the back of her hand. Y/n lifted her gaze to his. “No more secrets.”
Y/n took a deep breath before deciding that he did deserve to know. After all, he was honest about being Kraven. “When I said before that me and Peter act like twins for the most part. Well we do but we probably would be even more if we grew up together.”
Sergei furrowed his brow confused. “What do you mean?”
“When I was 8 our parents took us to a street fair, it’s no secret me and Peter are really smart. But for our age’s back then it was highly watched. Along with how athletic I was, I made a great candidate.” Y/n didn’t want to give him a short answer. He should know it all.
“Canidate for what?” Sergei didn’t like where this story sounded like it was headed.
“The RedRoom.” She stated. Y/n didn’t like to talk about it, but she trusted Sergei once she wanted to again and she was the one to say no more secrets.
Now that surprised him and it didn’t. Her fighting was professional, well trained. But the RedRoom? “You're a Widow.”
“Was. Am.” Y/n was being honest. She still used what they had taught her there everyday. It was engraved in her DNA, she’d always be a Widow.
Sergei understood that, it’d always be a part of her. “They just snatched you from the street fair?”
Y/n nodded. “When my parents were looking at a booth set up nearby.”
“How long were you there?” he couldn’t imagine losing a child like that.
“From the age of 8 to 16.” She answered, he was taking it well but he’s been through the ringer to. He could understand to an extent.
“8 Years.” He had heard stories of the RedRoom and he couldn’t help but tense thinking about all she might have gone through in her time there.
“And during that time. . . I thrived in the RedRoom and HYDRA took notice. So during that time they also trained me, and they experimented on me. Gave me my powers.” She didn’t know which she’d consider worse. HYDRA or the RedRoom. The only bonus was between being shared between the two organizations and escaping at age 16 she didn’t go through the dreaded ‘graduation’ process.
Sergei clenched his jaw, trying to control his anger. “Please tell me they're all dead.”
“Most are. Dead or in prison.” Y/n confirmed licking her lips.
Kraven decided right then and there he would find them all and kill them. Make sure they could never harm Y/n again. Even the ones in prison would face his wrath.
Sergei squeezed her hand in reassurance. “I’ll find them and finish it.”
Y/n opened her mouth to speak. “I know your methods-”
“Do you disagree?” He raised a brow and quirked his lips.
“No. Sometimes the bad guys need to die.” She couldn’t disagree, hell her and Peter fought about this often.
“I won’t let them live for what they put you through.” That was a promise he did not plan on breaking.
As odd as it sounded that brought back some of her trust in him, and it felt romantic. He didn’t want anyone getting off easy for what they did to her before he even knew her.
“You hungry?” Y/n asked after a moment of comfortable silence.
“Straving.” He said happily accepting her olive branch.
Y/n nodded, getting up to find some take out menus. “Let’s order some food and we can get to know each other for who they truly are.”
Sergei was taken by her offer so he bit his cheek to contain his smile. “It’s late. Are you inviting me to stay?”
Y/n suddenly felt shy glancing at him over her shoulder. “Do you want to? Stay?”
Of course he wanted to stay. Sergei was going to use all his time to work on mending things between them. “Absolutely.”
