Rumi holds her tongue and only winces when the final suture is pulled through and tied off.
Zoey leans back with her gloved hands pressed together. "How's that?"
Mira grins. "Perfect as ever."
Zoey did always have the best eye for needlework.
An awkward hush falls over the three hunters, and then Mira shoots a displeased look outward — at the collection of demons who have gathered in a spectating half-moon around their camp. Their expressions had been transfixed on Mira’s arm the entire time it had been sewn back together. "Do you guys mind?"
Some of the demons jump and skitter back with apologies spilling from their lips.
A few others — the infamous, overbearing Bora included — lean in closer, as if tempting fate.
“I’m not,” another giggles.
