the problem with doppio/diavolo
So yesterday, I reposted a thing about how Fugo's mischaracterized as depressed and emo, but that reminded me of a BIGGER PROBLEM.
Doppio. People look at how he acts in the show, and go 'awww the scrungly'. And they forget the fact that this man is the second in command of Passione. While yeah, that's mostly because he shares a body with Diavolo, he still probably had to work his way up to avoid suspicion. We see him kill people. The only reason he acts like a child was so that people would let him get close, so he could kill them with King Crimson. It. Was. An. Act.
Need I remind you, on the way to the Coliseum, when Doppio sees the others while getting Bucciarati over, Diavolo, mister scary murderer himself, has to STOP Doppio from killing Bucciarati.
That man is not a cute little baby, he is the second in command of passione, and arguably more brutal that Diavolo.
And even then, Diavolo is also mischaracterized. He isn't just going 'oohoo i kill people' he wants to hide his identity. He isn't gonna do stuff that would put him at risk. Especially in fanfics, where he is mean and cruel, we see this with Doppio, when he trusts somebody, he cares about them a lot, to the point that he gives part of his stand to Doppio. Yeah, some of that is probably from the concern that if Doppio dies, he dies, but he's actively nice to Doppio. Are you telling me that somebody who gives up part of their stand and control of their body to the person they trust would be a cruel vindictive person to their partner? HELL NO.
